Bella Hadid

Isabella Khair Hadid, also known as Bella Hadid, is an American model and she is best known as the younger sister of model Gigi Hadid.

Isabella Khair Hadid was born on October 9, 1996, at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. Her father, Mohamed Hadid, is a real estate developer of Palestinian-Jordanian descent, while her mother, Yolanda Hadid (née van den Herik), who is Dutch, is a former model.

She has an older sister, Gigi, and a younger brother, Anwar, both of whom are models. She also has two older paternal half-sisters named Marielle and Alana. Hadid and her siblings were raised on a ranch in Santa Barbara, California. The family moved to Beverly Hills after ten years.

After graduating from Malibu High School in 2014, Hadid moved to New York City to study photography at the Parsons School of Design. She suspended her studies in order to focus on her modelling career, although she has expressed interest in getting back to pursuing photography studies. She has also expressed her interest in pursuing an acting career. She is also a former equestrian, who wanted to compete at the Olympics according to USA Today.

Hadid began her modelling career at 16 years of age. She was signed to IMG Models in August 2014, and made her New York Fashion Week debut in September. In 2017, Hadid broke the record for her appearance in five Vogue September covers in one year. These included international editions of the magazine- China, Spain, Brazil, Australia and Arabia.

Bella Hadid's modeling career began at the age of 16 in 2012 with a commercial project for Flynn Skye. After signing to IMG Models on August 21, 2014, she made her New York Fashion Week debut in September, walking for Desigual. However, it was in between 2016 and 2017, that she had her major breakthrough. She walked the ramp for several fashion houses and fashion designers like the following-

Givenchy, Chanel, Miu Miu, Versace, Dior, Alexander Vauthier, Fendi, DKNY, Michael Kors, Anna Sui, Ralph Lauren, H & M, Alexander Wang, Carolina Herrera, Oscar De La Renta, Prabal Gurung, Moschino, Tommy Hilfiger and Lanvin among others. She continued to walk at all the major Fashion Week shows around the world. She also featured in ad campaigns for TAG Heuer, Bulgari, NARS Cosmetics, Ochirly, Dior Makeup and more. She made her Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show debut on November 30, 2016.

During 2016, she appeared on the covers of Seventeen Mexico, CR Fashion Book, V Magazine, Harper's Bazaar (Spain, Japan, Australia and Russia), Elle (Brazil, United States, United Kingdom, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia), Allure, Double Magazine, Glamour (Germany, United States, Russia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey and Iceland), Exit Magazine, W Magazine Korea, L'Officiel Russia, Sunday Times Style, British GQ, Flare, and Paper Magazine.

In May, Hadid made her first Vogue cover for Vogue Turkey, and made her short film debut in Tyler Ford's film, Private. In August, she appeared on the cover of Vogue Me, the Chinese edition of the magazine with Korean rapper G-Dragon. In September, she scored three more Vogue covers for Japan, Italia, and Paris.

In 2017, she appeared on the covers of Vogue (China, Spain, Brazil, Australia, and Arabia), Teen Vogue, W Magazine (the United States and Korea), Harper’s Bazaar China, CR Fashion Book, Grazia, Sunday Times Style, Porter Magazine, ELLE (United States, China, Russia, and France), InStyle, and 032c. Since 2018, she continues to appear in magazines and their editorials, as well as walk for major fashion brands. In September 2021, she co-founded Kin Euphorics, a non-alcoholic adaptogenic beverage brand. She oversees the company alongside its CEO and co-founder Jen Batchelor. In 2022, Hadid will make her acting debut as a recurring guest role in the third season of Ramy. As of 2022, Bella Hadid is the face of the campaigns of Swarovski and Balenciaga.

In 2016, Hadid donated a pair of jeans to Johnny Dar's Jeans for Refugees project, which had backing from the International Rescue Committee.

In November 2018, for Thanksgiving, she volunteered to make 500 meals for the Bowery Mission on behalf of Nike. Between April and May 2020, Hadid said that she donated to local food banks in NYC and to Feeding America to support COVID-19 relief for the economically marginalized.

Hadid has supported the Black Lives Matter movement. In May 2020, Hadid announced that she would be donating to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund. In July, Hadid auctioned off self-made clothing designs, with all proceeds going to organizations like Your Rights Camp and Feeding America.

She is also vocal about political issues around the Israel-Palestine conflict, protesting against former US President Trump’s move to shift the American Embassy to Jerusalem from Tel-Aviv.
