Doja Cat House

L’Officiel reported Doja dropped a cool $2.2 million in 2021 for a 2,400 square feet midcentury house located in the mountains above Beverly Hills. Described as the definition of bohemian chic, this midcentury home is within a stone’s throw from a number of hiking trails and is safely tucked between elm trees & a long driveway which ensures maximum privacy.

Though the house was initially priced at $2.8 million in 2018, following the pandemic, Doja Cat was able to acquire the four bedroom house that was originally built in the 1960s. The property has since undergone a number of renovations to modernize its midcentury architecture with a lot of its original identity being retained. With natural elements abundantly incorporated, this house is in every essence a bohemian getaway.

The original house listing states the house comes with natural wood paneling, a massive walk-in closet, and an open-air shower. At the end of the driveway, a distinctive wooden door can be seen fronting the house.

Upon entering the doors of Doja’s penthouse, guests are greeted by a flight of stairs lined by rocks. The hall offers a massive living area ideal for gatherings with windows that give panoramic views of both sides of the property.

Most of the rooms feature extensive wood paneling and a styled slate with accents that help blend the modern and the classic aesthetic. The living room features a dual-sided fireplace and also has massive floor-to-ceiling windows incorporated on the sides that provide the open house with ample natural light.

The kitchen adjoining the living room has a more contemporary vibe with a sleek white-and-gray palette.

The master bedroom/suite is accessed via the rock-lined staircase and also features a lot of living area with wood paneling. The bedroom also comes with a Japanese spa-styled slate bathtub and an open-air shower.

Outside the room, a small balcony overlooks the outdoors as well as the main attraction of this mid-century-modern penthouse. A swimming pool designed in a rather peculiar shape sits outside the house with two large storage rooms, an attached garage, and a spare room that can be most likely converted into the perfect home studio considering Doja Cat lives there.

The house rests on a hill and has a steep slope within its property that makes the outdoor area a little restricted but the design and layout of the house ensure most of the space that can be free is available.

Apart from her own mansion, she actively invests in a lot of real estate properties and has houses in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Beverly Hills, and New York. A beacon of pop culture, Doja likes to move in style, often spotted in designer clothes. She recently even had a tie-up with BMW for their #RoadToCoachella campaign where she was spotted in the exclusive BMW iX.

Doja Cat received a lot of backlash in September 2018 for her use of homophobic slurs directed towards rappers Earl Sweatshirt and Tyler the Creator. These tweets were from 2015, and after she was ‘canceled’, she apologized and deleted the offensive tweets.

Doja Cat is biracial as her father is South African (Black) and her mother is Jewish-American (Caucasian).

Though Say So became viral on TikTok, contrary to popular belief, Haley Sharpe, a TikTok artist, invented the original Say So dance which helped achieve its virality. Doja Cat later recreated those same viral dance steps from the TikTok dance in her song’s music video.
