Kris Collins developed an interest in entertainment since she was a child and she wanted to be a comedian. This was the primary reason for her to start posting creative content on various social media platforms. Collins didn’t get to explore her prowess in the creative field she wanted but looked to shape it in a different form as a hairdresser.

Collins worked on television and movie sets, most notably Riverdale, as a hairdresser. COVID quarantine rules forced Kris to quit hairdressing as the Canadian government tried to curb the spread of COVID-19. Kris’ love affair with TikTok started after her brother convinced her to download the app. Collins harbored dreams of comedy and content creation but she had no intention of pursuing those dreams before TikTok.

She joined TikTok in April 2020 and was surprised at the range of content on TikTok. Collins spent three days taking in the humor, dances, DIY projects, and everything else about TikTok before she started creating content. With enough time during the quarantine and a camera phone, Collins started posting lip-syncing comedy clips with equally funny captions and hilarious facial expressions.

As her following grew, Kris turned to create original skits. In her first skit, she pretended to be her mom, and as she told “Vancouver Is Awesome”, people really enjoyed it. TikTok has helped grow her followings on other social media apps as well. She also has a self-titled YouTube channel on which she uploads reaction and comedic videos. She also has a knack for taking pictures and posting them on her Instagram account, which also gained huge popularity along with her other platforms.

In an interview with dailyhive.com, she revealed key details about her professional life; “My whole job revolves around me coming up with ideas constantly, but I like to keep it as a regular workday as much as I can. So usually, the night before, I’ll write a script or have at least some sort of plan for the video or TikTok the next day. In the morning, I’ll spend a couple of hours making and editing the video. And then it’s kind of like a rinse and repeats for TikTok and YouTube. I usually stream at night or I’ll be working on my show that I’m writing or on merch, I’m designing. It’s a million little things throughout the day, and it ends up being an 8- to 12-hour day, depending on the day.”

Collins revealed her future plans as well “I always wanted to try to get into acting and writing, so [TikTok] kind of opened a lot of different doors for me. I’ve been approached by production companies and casting directors, so now I’m trying to break into the TV/movie space, possibly. And I’m trying to write my own show. I feel like this is maybe a stepping stone for me into something else, but for right now, it’s wonderful. And I love doing TikTok and YouTube. It’s nice to just be able to do what I want to.”

Kris Collins was born on 1 July 1996, in Vancouver, Canada and she is the second oldest of six siblings. Her five siblings include three sisters named Kara Lee Collins, Jessica Collins, and Alissa Collins, and two brothers. Her older sister is also popular on TikTok as jessbeingjessica. Collins’ studied at a Local High, after which, she was admitted to a local private university in Canada.

She graduated with a bachelor’s degree and she received her certification as a hairdresser from Vancouver Hair Academy South Surrey in 2017. Not much is known about her parent, Collins’s father is a businessman by profession. She also shares a very close relationship with her mother who is a homemaker.
