There are a total of ten different boss fights you can attempt after reaching hardmode in Terraria. These bosses are much more demanding than the pre-hardmode bosses and require a good deal of preparation and strategy in order to defeat them. The Twins are made up of two entities, retinazer and spazmatism. Retinazer will attempt to keep its distance from you while shooting lasers at you, while spazmatism will aggressively dash at you. Once both of them reach half HP they will transform and their attacks will become more frequent and deal more damage. You can summon The Twins by crafting a mechanical eye out of 5 iron/lead bars, 6 souls of light, and 3 lenses at a mythril/orichalcum anvil.
Retinazer has 20000, 30000, or 38250 health and spazmatism has 23000, 34500, or 43987 health depending on which difficulty you are playing on. Because of how frequently spazmatism is in your face, focus this one down first in order to get some breathing room for retinazer. Try to focus all your damage onto one at a time, if you have both of them transform at the same time you will have a very difficult fight to face.
The Destroyer is the mechanical variant of the Eater of Worlds. Instead of each segment breaking off into its own head, every segment of The Destroyer shares the whole experience bar. Each segment can deploy probes once to shoot lasers at you and can quickly get out of hand if you do not crowd control them efficiently. Use a weapon that has a good amount of piercing or area of effect capabilities to take this giant mechanical worm down. You can summon The Destroyer with a mechanical worm crafted with 6 rotten chunks, 5 iron/lead bars, and 6 souls of night.
The Destroyer has 80000, 120000, or 153000 total health depending on which difficulty your world is set to. While The Destroyer does not transform, its attacks become much more frequent the lower its HP gets. Avoid getting hit by its head at all costs, getting hit will cost a big chunk of your health points and can quickly end your fight.
The last of the mechanical boss variants, Skeletron Prime. Unlike Skeletron, Skeletron Prime has four hands and each of them have their own unique attacks. The vice and the saw will aggressively reach towards the player, and the laser gun and cannon will shoot projectiles at the player. Just like the regular Skeletron fight, you only have to destroy the head to defeat this boss. You can summon Skeletron Prime with a mechanical skull crafted from 30 bones, 5 iron/lead bars, and 3 souls of night and light.
His head has 28000, 42000, or 53550 health depending on what difficulty your world is set to. With all of his limbs combined he has 59000, 88500, or 112836 total health. Its defense rating will not decrease if you destroy a limb, you can try to just focus down the head. Use the highest DPS weapon you can get your hands on to defeat Skeletron Prime.
Plantera is one of those bosses that is easy to underestimate and even with careful planning can slow you down. This large plant monstrosity spits thorns, attempts to close in on the player with barbed hooks, and can charge at the player surprisingly quickly. Its health values range from 30,000; 42,000; and 53,549 total health. You can summon plantera by breaking a plantera bulb that spawns in the jungle after defeating all three mechanical bosses.
This fight is all about preparation, you want to clear out as much of the underground jungle as you can, and fill the resulting space with platforms for you to quickly re-maneuver. As its spawn item is not craftable, clear out some tunnels nearby your arena and mow down plants until the bulb spawns.
The Golem is a relatively easy boss for this stage of the game. It is a large boss that jumps similar to King Slime and will shoot fireballs or lasers at you during the fight. Once it reaches half health, its head will begin to float around the arena and attack you. The Golem will also attempt to launch its fists at you, which you can bat away with any attack.
The Golem has 39000, 58500, or 74586 health depending on your world’s difficulty setting. You can summon him from the Lihzahrd Altar in the jungle temple with a Lihzahrd Power Cell. These power cells can be found throughout the temple and dropped rarely by the Lihzahrd enemies that spawn in the temple. If you managed to defeat Plantera, you ought to be able to defeat the Golem no problem.
Once you have defeated the Golem, four cultists will spawn at the dungeon entrance. Killing these four cultists will spawn the Lunatic Cultist. You can summon the Moon Lord by destroying the fourth celestial pillar that spawns after defeating the Lunatic Cultist, or you can craft a celestial sigil with 20 of each of the celestial pillars’ fragments.
The Moon Lord has 145000, 217500, or 277311 combined health depending on the difficulty you are playing on. This fight is the most difficult fight in Terraria, its damage is nearly unfair, its attacks can cover a large portion of your screen, and it can inflict a debuff preventing lifesteal effects. This is a true test of your movement capabilities and damage output.
To help bridge the gap between entering hardmode and the mechanical bosses, the Queen Slime was added during the Journey’s End update. This boss is the hardmode equivalent of the King Slime, but after it reaches half health it will begin to fly. The slimes that the Queen Slime spawns are also much deadlier and can present quite a challenge early hardmode.
The Queen slime has 18000, 28800, or 36720 health depending on your world’s difficulty setting. She can be summoned with a gelatin crystal found in the underground hallow. One of the optional late-hardmode fights you can attempt is Duke Fishron. This pig, dragon, shark hybrid is quite menacing and will quickly become enraged if you attempt to fight him anywhere other than the ocean biome. If you are playing on expert or higher, this boss fight has three stages. The first stage he will attempt to charge at the player, spit explosive bubbles, or summon sharknados to deal damage to you. In the second stage, the will quickly fly around in circles, and in the third stage, he will become invisible, teleport around the player, and charge at you aggressively.
This fight is dangerous and requires a good deal of preparation. Duke Fishron has 50000, 60000, or 76500 health depending on your world’s difficulty. He can be summoned by first catching a truffle worm from the underground glowing mushroom biomes and fishing in an ocean with the truffle worm in your inventory. He offers some good equipment and weapons for tackling the later hardmode bosses, so despite the optional fight, you ought to consider fighting him for the boost in equipment.
One of the hardest boss fights in the game goes to the Empress of Light. This boss was added as part of the Journey’s End update and offers a unique challenge for one of the strongest weapons in the game. She attacks with streaks of light and dozens of different light based projectiles that can be difficult to avoid. Luckily her attacks follow a pattern, so fighting her a few times should help you understand how to avoid her plentiful attacks.
The Empress of Light has 70000, 98000, or 124950 health depending on your world’s difficulty setting. She can be summoned by killing a prismatic lacewing which is a rare critter that spawns in surface hallow between 7:30 pm and 12:00 am. If you fight her during the day, she becomes enraged, and defeating her by doing all the damage during daylight will cause her to drop the Terraprisma summon weapon.

Terraprisma is a summon weapon dropped by the Empress of Light if you deal all the damage during daylight. Remember that the Empress will also drop weapons even if you kill her at night time so use these weapon upgrades against her.
Unfortunately, there is no quick fix to get more Plantera Bulbs to spawn. You simply have to ensure you have a large amount of flat space for it to potentially generate on some jungle grass in the underground jungle. You can clear out long tunnels and keep mowing down the large bushes and grass that grow to increase your chances. Patience is the name of the game concerning getting Plantera Bulbs to spawn.
