Lucas and Marcus Dobre-Mofid, also known as the Dobre Twins, are an American dancing duo, social media influencers, and YouTube personalities who rose to prominence on the now-defunct video application Vine. They are part of the Dobre Brothers, also joined by Cyrus and Darius, their older brothers.
The twins produce a wide variety of video content that includes challenge videos, experiments, vlogs, dance videos and pranks among others. They run their own YouTube channel called ‘Lucas and Marcus’ while the brothers feature collectively on "Dobre Brothers" and "Dobre Cars".

The twins first entered the content creation space on the now-defunct application Vine. Lucas and Marcus were known as "TwinBotz" on Vine, where they had more than 1.8 million followers before it shut down. They used the app to showcase their talent, including breakdancing, gymnastics and stunts. Their popularity eventually earned them a spot at AT&T's Later Haters Expo and gradually, they garnered fame on the platform as their videos went viral with millions of views. In March 2018, it was announced that the Dobre Brothers signed a joint venture deal with Creative Artists Agency (CAA).
The twin brothers upload a wide range of videos on their YouTube channel ‘Lucas and Marcus’ which is currently one of the fastest-growing channels with over 24 million subscribers as of June 2022. Their channels that feature their older brothers Cyrus and Darius called "Dobre Brothers” isn’t far behind and has earned over 10 million subscribers, while their "Dobre Cars" channel showcases their extensive love for luxury vehicles, which has over 1.3 million subs.

In a report with Insider - The Dobre twins’ recent YouTube video has given them a fair share of criticism, which features Marcus faking his death by suicide as a "prank." The video, titled "MY TWIN BROTHER IS DEAD?!" was posted on January 10 and has been viewed over 2.5 million times. As the video goes - Lucas is reading a note from his twin brother. "Put this on YouTube," it says. "To my family, Lucas, mom, dad, Cyrus, Darius, and everyone else I just wanna say I love you guys. I just wanted to write you this letter before I go. I'm gonna miss you so much but now I'm gone forever." He continues to read the note, with increasing confusion. "Please don't give up on our fans, they really love us and we keep them happy. I left you something in the backyard to remember me. From Marcus, I will see you in the sky." Lucas is then seen searching the house for Marcus and calling his phone, before the twins' older brothers Cyrus and Darius appear, asking why Lucas isn't "freaking out." The brothers are then filmed finding a tombstone in the backyard, and pondering what it all meant, before the filming stops. The video then switches to Marcus’ perspective speaking directly to the camera.

"I'm not dead, I just wanted to prank my family. I'm so sorry guys," he said. "I flew out to LA just to pull off this prank. I can't believe I did it."
The comments section was filled with disapproval. One viewer commented saying "As someone who has actually been through this, this is actually just the worst. Losing my brother was the worst thing I've ever gone through,”. In a statement to Insider, a representative for suicide prevention charity SAVE said, "We lose someone to suicide every 40 seconds, which means this is nothing to joke about, minimize, or attempt to make funny."
The statement was furthered by stating that pranks about suicide could cause "harm or death" and "major trauma" for the people on the receiving end. SAVE also said such pranks can lead to emergency services being called out unnecessarily, which is costly for the community. "We need to send a clear message to everyone that videos or actions such as these pranks are not appropriate and potentially very dangerous," says SAVE. "Social media platforms need to continue to work to help save lives from suicide through existing best practices for social media and prevent prank videos from negatively influencing users." YouTube's community guidelines state, "We do not allow content on YouTube that promotes suicide, self-harm, that is intended to shock or disgust, or poses a considerable risk to viewers." There is no clear guidance on "pranks" of this nature, and Google, which owns YouTube, did not oblige to comment.
The brothers are yet to respond to Insider's request for comment. The four brothers have been posting on their joint YouTube channel for five years and the videos sometimes feature their mother, retired Olympic gymnast Aurelia Dobre.
Lucas and Marcus are estimated to have a combined net worth of close to $6 million, according to Net Worth Spot and Seventeen. Their primary earnings come from their social media accounts. Other than that, Lucas and Marcus earn from music streams and merchandise.
On Instagram, the twins could potentially earn upwards of $20k on each sponsored post, while on their personal accounts, the brothers could earn an estimated $15k per post. On TikTok with 35.6 Million followers, the duo earns an estimated average of between $19k to $24k per post. On their YouTube channel with 24.6 million subscribers, the duo could earn an estimated upwards of $200k every month.
The twins from music streams and collaborative music videos earn up to $25k a year, with most of it coming from collaborative efforts. Not much is known about the sales of their merchandise, but with each item averaging between $15 to $100, the duo could earn up to $25k a month on sales.
Lucas and Marcus have asserted an empire on TikTok, Youtube, and Instagram. On TikTok, they have 35.6 million followers, on Instagram, they have 1.9 Million followers and on YouTube, they have 24.6 Million subscribers.

Lucas and Marcus Dobre-Mofid were born in Maryland on January 28, 1999, to retired Olympic gymnasts Aurelia Dobre and Boz Mofid, the owners of Dobre Gymnastics Academy in Gaithersburg, Maryland. They have two older brothers, Cyrus Dobre (born 1993) and Darius Dobre (born 1995). Lucas has been dating fashion model and social media influencer Ivanita Lomelisince 2018.
