Nessa Barrett and musician Jaden Hossler dated between 2021 and 2022. Rumors of them dating officially sparked in February 2021 when both of them were promoting their single “La Di Die” on various platforms.
However, the actual rumors of them dating sparked in 2020, when Lil Huddy posted an “expose” on Twitter, alleging that Nessa was cheating on her then-boyfriend Josh Richards with Jaden. Neither Josh, Jaden nor Nessa have confirmed or denied these statements. Meanwhile, Jaden himself was being accused of cheating on his girlfriend Mads Lewis around the same time, and later in 2021, her song “Angels & Demons” was stolen by Barrett.
Between March and June 2021, they were spotted at various places together, and posted many pics of them together on social media, which made fans speculate that they were dating. In May 2021, they teamed up to star in and create original music for Audio Up Media’s scripted podcast, “Prom in Hell,” which premiered on May 25, 2021. Even when we’re bored, we’ll find beats on YouTube and play and freestyle, and it’s the funniest thing ever. It’s so crazy because every now and then, we’ll go up to each other and we’ll be like, ‘Babe, I have this idea.’ And then we’ll sing each other the lyrics and see if the other thinks it’s cool. It’s like we’re each other’s tests.”
Just when everything seemed to be going well for the couple, in April 2022, rumors of them splitting up surfaced on social media. Nessa and Jaden had unfollowed each other back then. She said that she usually handles serious matters of life online, and that she reportedly “didn’t want this”.
In May 2022, both Jaden and Nessa issued a joint statement via Instagram stories about their split.
“Last month we broke up to take time to focus on our own careers & mental,” they wrote. “Please don’t send hate or make assumptions. We would like to heal privately and hope you all can respect that. We love you all so much.”
