Adam posted his first TikTok video in November 2019 and the character, Rosa made her first appearance a few videos later. Since then, he has emerged as a prominent comedy and parody content maker on TikTok. He has been active on Instagram since 2016 and in July 2016, Adam posted on Instagram a photo of the Taurus sign tattoo on his wrist.

This would be his first post on the platform and over the next few years, he predominantly uploaded selfies, makeup, and modeling photos. However, that changed when he started gaining popularity on TikTok, as he began resharing his TikTok content on Instagram as well.

In a Q&A video posted on his YouTube channel in March 2020, Adam revealed that he had a “boring” desk job before his videos started going viral. Adam used to work in a 9-5 office job at a call center. After work, he would spend hours on Tiktok making videos, which is when he created his alter-ego, Rosa. He shared, “I was learning makeup. I was getting heavy into beauty and everything like that. I had ordered these huge pair of lashes because that’s just kind of the look that I always wanted. I don’t know what made me flip one upside down, put harsh contour and create this alter-ego. But all in all, I am Rosa. As the class='entity-link' id='suggestBtn-11'>creator of Rosa, she has to be in me. So it’s not really a character to me, it’s very much me, but on an elevated level.”

Martinez’s massive following on social media is mostly thanks to Rosa. When asked, “What makes Rosa so viral?” he responded saying, “It’s her outspokenness, but it's also her familiarity.”

He explained, “It takes very few words to describe her. You can just hear her or be around her and it should bring back that familiar feeling. You know a person like that, you know a family member like that. She’s very predictable but in an unpredictable way. Nobody will say it but everybody wants to be like her because she’s just out there like that. She’s not scared. She’s just bored. She can do whatever she wants and people like that.”

Rosa started to become viral among Tiktok users and within just months, with his character’s help, Adam was able to gain more than 4 million followers. Rosa is now famous for her catchphrases, “come here, let me see”, and “open your purse”. Adam made sure Rosa’s appearance would be drastically different than his, hence he puts on a lot of makeup with huge fake eyelashes and heavy contouring.

Adam’s character, Rosa, to her fans is a foul-mouthed girl who misbehaves in class in the shameless pursuit of Youtube fame and has endless drama with her ex, but that doesn’t seem to make them stop loving Rosa. The character’s increasing popularity pushed Adam to collaborate with other TikTokers. Fellow Tiktok star Marlene was the first to start posting conversations with Rosa and soon the duo began collaborating.

Adam set up his YouTube channel in January 2020 and has since used it to try out long-format videos that revolve around comedy, beauty, vlogs, storytime, and the occasional Q&A. While Rosa does appear here on his YouTube videos as well, they are more personal characteristics. He has also uploaded a cooking tutorial and a few reaction videos on his channel. The most popular video on his channel is, ‘ROSA TAKES OVER OMEGLE’ which was posted on 30th March 2020 and has over 1 million views on it.

His collaboration with Youtube star James Charles in March 2020 brought him into controversy and also received many negative comments. His fans bombarded the comment section for collaborating with a ‘racist’ and ‘predator’. They received a lot of hate comments after James posted the video on Youtube.
