Father/Son is a storyline mission in GTA V. It is the protagonist Michael De Santa’s mission. It also involves Franklin Clinton and Jimmy De Santa.
In this mission, Franklin is seen visiting the De Santa residence to ask Michael if he has a job for him, while Michael is resting on a lounge chair by his swimming pool. Michael invites Franklin to have a beer with him. While they walk towards the car, Michael receives a call from Jimmy, who tells him that his boat has been stolen while he (Jimmy) tried to sell it for some money. Michael and Franklin take Amanda’s car and go after Jimmy.

They drive towards Pacific Bluffs and see the boat on a trailer. They go after it and Franklin jumps onto the boat, having to fight two men on it. Jimmy safely gets into the vehicle while Franklin is still aboard the boat on the trailer. Michael gets closer to the trailer and Franklin jumps back into the car as well.
After the car has taken quite some damage, it slows down and the trio drive to Los Santos Customs. Michael takes a cab after giving Franklin some money to fix Amanda’s car and drop Jimmy home. Franklin drops Jimmy and the car at the De Santa residence and leaves.
Two men who steal the boat are shot and thrown off the boat by Michael and Franklin.
Amanda’s car takes damage to the engine.

After The Mission
Michael tells Franklin to come over later to talk, as he seems impressed with Franklin’s skills while rescuing his son. Michael is then seen getting off from the taxi in Morningwood or dropping off Amanda at Portola Drive to go shopping. Franklin then visits Michael during another set of dramatic events.

Trivia
The Phantom towing Michael's boat trailer is immune to the player - it cannot be destroyed, and is difficult to catch up with, particularly at its first instance. It also cannot be beaten; if the player manages to get ahead of the truck, it will speed ahead, particularly at the end of the chase.
When Franklin jumps from the Marquis to the Sentinel, he will make his way to the passenger seat regardless of the car's movement, even if it is flying through the air or upside down.
The Sentinel is scripted to break down after two gunshots to the engine, even if the player avoids the gunshots altogether.
If the player gets to Los Santos Customs before Franklin calls a cab for Michael, Franklin will offer Michael a ride back to the house, though Michael will wave down a cab anyway.
