Murder Mystery Mission in GTA 5

This murder mystery is connected to the film industry. The player doesn’t receive any alert to start this mission unlike other side missions.

The First Clue

1. The first message is located close to the pool at the Gentry Manor Hotel. It reads "Old Fred acts nice, but it ain't so!".
2. The second message is located at the Galileo Observatory in Vinewood Hills. It reads "David Richards knows".
3. The third message is located at the City Hall in Alta. It reads "Fred makes cartoons for kids, funny thing considering what he hid".
4. The fourth and final message is located next to the Oriental Theater in Downtown Vinewood. It reads "Ain't no mystery. They drowned her because of what she knew!".

After finding the four cryptic messages the following clues are received by Michael:

1. "Track down the sunken body off the west coast".
2. "Find a damning letter on a desk of a friend".

The Second Clue

Michael needs to find the sunken body which is located just off the coast by Fort Zancudo, near the bow of a sunken Olifantus. This body has its feet stuck in a concrete block at the bottom of the ocean. Michael will need a submarine or a scuba suit to find the body.

The Third Clue

(The letter written by Fred Quincy to David Richards)

Michael has to read the letter on Solomon Richard's desk in his office at Richards Majestic. The office is only accessible between 21:00 and 6:00 after completing the mission Meltdown. The previous clues can be discovered by Michael at any point in the game.

The letter was written to David Richards by Fred Quincy dated August 14, 1949. The letter is Quincy’s confession to murdering Isaac, an associate. A dispute between the two led to Isaac being murdered by Quincy and his body being hidden in a mine in the hills. Quincy also confesses murdering his secretary whom he killed after he was threatened by her. The secretary is revealed to be the woman from the ocean.

Michael can now set out to find the body in the mine.

Finding The Body

The body is located inside an abandoned mine at Great Chaparral. There is a door that needs to be destroyed with a heavy weapon to enter the mine. The body can then be found a little into the mine. Once Michael finds the body the mystery is solved and Isaac’s contact will be available to all three protagonists.

The player receives two Noir filters for snapmatic which can also be applied to the gameplay overlay. It can be activated by visiting his body or dialing Isaac’s number from any protagonist's phone.

1. The yellow access corona will always be available near Richards office but it can only be accessed between 21:00 and 6:00.
2. This mission is only available in the enhanced version of GTA 5.
