The Firework Launcher is a limited-time weapon/item in GTA V. It belongs to the Heavy Weapons weapon class in the game. This is a single-shot weapon that looks just like a rocket launcher but has a different functionality. It is made available in the game every year during the Independence Day Special and also during the Festive Surprise update.
It is then made unavailable for purchase after the period has ended, however, those players who have purchased the launcher and ammo can use it till they run out of ammo. The launcher and extra ammo is made available during the festive periods again. Players who already own the launcher also receive a free full refill of ammo every time the festive update arrives.

The Firework Launcher’s design looks just like a combination of the Panzerfaust and Panzerschreck. It has a cardboard like body with a rocket that can be fitted onto the top. The scope for this launcher is a handmade reticle on a transparent sheet attached to a piece of cardboard attached to the body of the launcher. The Freedom Fireworks logo can be seen on this weapon.
The main purpose of the firework launcher is to launch fireworks in the sky but it can also be used as a weapon which is quite ineffective. When fired it shoots the sky rocket with a whistling sound with sparkles flying from the rocket. On impact with a surface, it creates a colorful explosion and a small fire in the area of impact.
When fired close to NPCs or other armored targets, minimal damage is caused by knocking down NPCs and taking half damage off the armor of other targets. When shot straight up in the open sky the rocket explodes after a certain distance and causes a colorful explosion just like a firework.

During American Independence Day, the Firework Launcher fires white, red and blue colors by default, while at Christmas, it fires white, red and green colors by default.
When firing the Firework Launcher at the sky, it will cause pedestrians to be terrified and flee, as it is still counted as a heavy weapon.
The HUD icon appears to lack the "blast shield".
This is one of two ranged weapons in the game that lack any complex aiming reticles, the other weapon being the Flare Gun.
