Name | Mount Gordo |
Location | Blaine County, San Andreas |
Appearance(s) | GTA V GTA Online |
Mount Gordo is famous for the death of Jolene Cranley-Evans in 1978 at the mountain top from where her husband Jock Cranley actually pushed her off but was let go without any charges. The spirit of Jolene Cranley-Evans haunts the top of the mountain and her ghost can be seen at Mount Gordo at a specific time in the game.
The ghost of Jolene Cranley-Evans is an easter egg in GTA V and her ghost appears at the top between 23:00 and 00:00. The ghost will disappear if the player goes too close to it. There is a camp at the eastern foot of the mountain from where she can be heard screaming. On the rock that the ghost floats over, the name "Jock" is written in blood, accusing her husband of murdering her.
At night, there is a unique glowing gold tree at the west side of the mountain near Braddock Pass railroad. This is probably a bug.
"Gordo" means fat or large in Spanish and Portuguese. This may be a reference to the mountain's large size and broad profile.
Gordo was also the name given to the Legendary Boar the player must hunt and kill in Red Dead Redemption, another game by Rockstar Games.
