The Scrap Truck is a utility truck that can be spotted carrying scrap in GTA V. It is manufactured by Vapid and belongs to the Utility vehicle class in the game. It can be found driven around by NPCs in specific areas of both Los Santos and Blaine County.
The Scrap Truck in GTA V draws its design inspiration from the Yankee in Grand Theft Auto IV, featuring a similar cabin design, flat bumper, and front lights. However, it incorporates distinct design elements such as a different grille design, a flat hood, visible door hinges, side steps below the cabin for fuel tanks, marker lights and trumpet horns on the roof, and small box-shaped tanks behind the cabin.
The rear section consists of a large bed with square tail lights, a black bumper, and small mudguards below. The bed is enclosed with wooden barriers, with an open section on the passenger side.
The Scrap Truck always appears in a rusty condition and can spawn with either an empty bed or with assorted appliances, sometimes with missing wooden barriers. The color scheme is limited to a few single colors for the cabin and bed, and it is equipped with industrial wheels similar to those found on the Phantom and the Mule. These trucks are typically operated by Rogers Salvage and Scrap.
The Scrap Truck delivers average performance considering its weight, size, and purpose. Despite its heavy build, the truck can achieve impressive top speeds. However, due to its weight, it lacks responsiveness and acceleration. Its long wheelbase and chassis result in a wide turning radius, but its weight provides stability during high-speed cornering and maneuvering. The truck's durability is notable, allowing it to easily ram smaller cars off the road. It performs similarly to the Towtruck but with lower top speed and acceleration.
Under the hood, the Scrap Truck is equipped with a large twin-cam 4-cylinder engine, positioned longitudinally in a front engine, rear-wheel drive configuration. It is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. Notably, the engine is fitted with a large turbocharger and emits a distinctive roar, reminiscent of diesel engines used in heavy trucks like the Phantom, Rubble, and Pounder. The engine delivers a smooth yet audible sound, providing a unique driving experience compared to light trucks and the Towtruck.

Unlike the Towtruck, the vehicle lacks physical axles, rendering the wheels disconnected from the truck chassis. In addition, the driveshaft ends at the front set of the rear wheels, which also appears to be floating beneath the chassis.
