Design and Performance

The Advanced Rifle is based on the CTAR-21 which is an Israeli bullpup rifle. This rifle can be fitted with a scope on the raised Picatinny rail. A suppressor, scope and flashlight can be used with this gun. The trigger is towards the front of the gun along with a grip right above it. Most of the gun sits under the shoulder of the person using it. The Advanced Rifle has a capacity of 30 rounds by default but can be upgraded to 60 rounds with an extended clip.

(The Advanced Rifle in first person perspective)

The Advanced Rifle is a very powerful weapon. The only disadvantage is its low accuracy at long ranges. This is, however, a good single shot weapon, especially with the added scope attachment. The gun isn’t stable enough to shoot at long ranges and an added grip could’ve improved this factor, but there is no grip attachment available for this gun. It is one of the rifles with the highest damage rate and can be compared to the Heavy Rifle. It takes two shots or more to take down a target from a distance.

Location

  • Can be picked up by Michael from the Epsilon guards if Michael decides to betray the cult during the mission Unknowing the Truth.

  • Given to Michael and Franklin with extended clips if the obvious approach is chosen for The Big Score.

  • Available for purchase at Ammu-Nation for $3,500 after completing the mission The Big Score.

Trivia

  • The Advanced Rifle is first used by Michael during the mission Three's Company.

  • In the beta, it was more correctly modeled after the CTAR-21 and had a green finish in comparison to the gray version in the finished game. Giving it a green tint will give it a closer resemblance to the CTAR-21.

  • Like the Assault SMG, the Advanced Rifle, if discharged in a burst of 2-3 bullets, will seemingly have a fire rate similar to a minigun.
