Beam Me Up is based on the Salvation Mountain in the California Desert area of Imperial County, north of Calipatria. It is a small quarry that has been painted and decorated with a theme based around extraterrestrial life. There is huge lettering that reads SAVE US.
It mostly includes orange, yellow, green and blue paints and also shows the earth and a few alien faces. It is inhabited by a community of hippie alien enthusiasts. A couple of tents and a large trailer make up for their accommodation.
