Bugstars Equipment Mission in GTA 5

Bugstars Equipment is a mission in GTA 5 given to Michael De Santa by Lester Crest if the player chooses the Smart Approach for the Jewel Store Job heist. This is the first setup mission for the smart approach of the main heist.

In this mission, Michael has to steal the Bugstars van from a warehouse in the Port Of Los Santos as part of the setup for the smart approach of the Jewel Store Job heist. This mission can either be done stealthily or by killing all four employees before stealing the van. Killing or alerting the employees will give you a 2-star wanted level whereas stealthily taking out the driver and stealing the van is required to receive a gold medal for this mission.

Michael then has to deliver the van to the location given to him by Lester after which the next setup mission is automatically triggered.

This is a setup mission and hence there are no rewards.

After Mission

This is the first setup mission for The Jewel Store Job heist. After this mission, the second setup mission “BZ Gas Grenades” is given to Michael De Santa by Lester Crest which involves stealing gas grenades.

If the player steals the Bugstars van as Franklin and switches to Michael before Lester texts him about getting the van, it doesn't count, and the player will have to drive back to the Bugstars warehouse as Michael to steal another van.
The smart approach rewards the player with more money and is the canonical progress in the storyline which was confirmed in GTA Online.
