The Dodo is a seaplane featured in GTA V that is based on the de Havilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver. Unlike other planes in the game, such as the Mammatus, the Dodo has a high-wing setup and features pontoons that give it the ability to land and take off from water. The plane has a relatively long fuselage with a rounded front and houses a three-bladed propeller on the front and dual exhaust pipes below. The cockpit features a wide panel with the corresponding flight instruments and only has a single control stick for the pilot. The plane can carry four passengers, with the rear occupants standing on the pontoons or hanging from the sides. The plane's speed and agility are slightly affected by the two large pontoons, which add some drag and weight to the aircraft.
The Dodo's engine appears to be a radial engine, evidenced by the eight cylinders seen behind the main propeller and mounted around the engine's crankcase. The plane shares the traditional engine sound from the Mammatus and the Duster. The Dodo's performance is excellent, with a top speed comparable to that of the Duster and acceleration on par with the Mammatus. The short take-off distance and good acceleration make it a highly versatile aircraft, and the ability to land and take off from water increases its usefulness. Random Event - Sea Plane - The Dodo can be acquired from a cave located to the south of the San Chianski Mountain Range as part of this random event. The player has to take out the gangsters guarding the plane and escape with it.

The Dodo was meant to appear in Grand Theft Auto IV, as evidenced by its handling line being present in GTA IV's internal files.
According to programming, the Dodo in GTA III is actually a "car" that has been modified to fly. This is why it has many car-like properties, such as its resilience to high-speed crashes and car-like behavior on the ground. This was changed in the subsequent games.
