In the Naruto anime, the Sound Four had a slightly different backstory than in the manga. Originally, they were prisoners held captive by Orochimaru, the sinister rogue ninja. Orochimaru would pit these prisoners against each other in brutal battle royales, where they were forced to fight to the death. By surviving their respective matches, the Sound Four proved themselves to be the strongest among Orochimaru's prisoners, earning them a place as his personal bodyguards.
However, the dynamics of the group changed when Kimimaro, a highly skilled shinobi with a rare Shikotsumyaku ability, joined them. Due to his exceptional powers and loyalty to Orochimaru, Kimimaro was appointed as the leader of the group after he defeated the Sound Four with his unique abilities, and they became known as the Sound Five.
Kimimaro's bone-manipulating abilities made him a prime candidate to become Orochimaru's next host body, as Orochimaru sought to transfer his consciousness into a new vessel to extend his life.
Under Kimimaro's leadership, the Sound Five worked closely with Orochimaru, assisting him in various missions and acts of sabotage. One notable mission was the assassination of the Fourth Kazekage, the leader of the Hidden Sand Village. The Sound Five also played a role in disrupting the Chūnin Exams held in Konohagakure, the Hidden Leaf Village, where they were involved in the deaths of several shinobi, including Shiore's team.
However, Kimimaro fell gravely ill during these events due to a terminal illness that had afflicted him for some time. This forced him to withdraw from the group and put a halt to Orochimaru's plans of using him as a vessel. The specifics of when Kimimaro became ill were not explicitly mentioned in the anime.
Sakon and Ukon, along with the rest of the Sound Four, had their initial appearance during a critical event in the Naruto anime. The incident took place during the battle between Orochimaru, the rogue ninja, and Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Third Hokage of Konohagakure, the Hidden Leaf Village.
As Orochimaru engaged in a fierce confrontation with the Third Hokage, Sakon, Ukon, Jirobo, Kidomaru, and Tayuya, the members of the Sound Four, erected a powerful barrier. The barrier's purpose was to prevent anyone from interfering in the epic battle between their master and the revered Hokage.
During the intense clash, Orochimaru succeeded in defeating the Third Hokage and ultimately took his life. However, Orochimaru's victory came at a great cost. As a consequence of Hiruzen’s forbidden technique, the Reaper Death Seal, Orochimaru's arms suffered from severe necrosis, rendering them useless for combat. Realizing the urgency of the situation, Orochimaru ordered the Sound Four, including Sakon and Ukon, to retreat and escort him back to Otogakure, the Hidden Sound Village.
Understanding the gravity of their master's condition, the Sound Four facilitated his return to Otogakure, where Orochimaru could seek the necessary medical assistance and plan his next moves.
Under Orochimaru's orders, Sakon, Ukon, and the rest of the Sound Four returned to Konohagakure with a specific mission: to convince Sasuke Uchiha, a talented young ninja from the Hidden Leaf Village, to join forces with Orochimaru. Eager to test Sasuke's abilities and gauge his potential, Sakon took the lead and goaded Sasuke into a one-on-one fight.
During the confrontation, Sakon received some support from Jirobo, Kidomaru, and secretly Ukon, as they observed the battle closely. Despite Sasuke managing to land a few attacks on Sakon, the outcome was ultimately in Sakon's favor. Using his superior skills, Sakon easily defeated Sasuke, taking pleasure in showcasing his dominance over the young Uchiha. He even remarked that Kimimaro, their former comrade, would have made a more suitable vessel for Orochimaru than Sasuke.
However, the situation took an unexpected turn when Sasuke activated his Cursed Seal of Heaven, revealing a power the Sound Four had not anticipated. They were surprised to learn that Sasuke possessed a cursed seal, as it had been unknown to them until that moment. Sasuke, driven by his newfound strength, attempted to attack once more. However, Sakon swiftly beat Sasuke back, demonstrating his own cursed seal and delivering a brief lecture on the dangers of using such power recklessly.
Seizing the opportunity, the Sound Four offered Sasuke the chance to join Orochimaru's ranks. They emphasized that by aligning himself with Orochimaru, Sasuke could gain immense power like theirs, which he would never achieve if he remained in Konoha, the Hidden Leaf Village. They also reminded Sasuke of his ultimate goal: to defeat his brother, Itachi Uchiha. With this tempting proposition and reminder of his personal vendetta, they left Sasuke to consider their offer.
Later that night, the Sound Four patiently waited outside the village for Sasuke's arrival, signaling their willingness to welcome him into their ranks. Sakon, understanding the importance of diplomacy, formally apologized for the group's earlier rudeness and bowed to Sasuke, acknowledging him as their new leader if he chose to accept Orochimaru's offer.
Once they had distanced themselves from Konohagakure, Sakon, and his team-mates, still accompanied by Sasuke Uchiha, initiated the next phase of their plan.
They provided Sasuke with the Mind Awakening Pill, a potent drug that would accelerate the maturation of his cursed seal, pushing it into a second, more powerful stage. Understanding that Sasuke's body needed time to adjust to the effects of the pill, the Sound Four utilized their Four Black Fogs Formation technique to induce an unconscious state in Sasuke, facilitating the process.
However, their departure did not go unnoticed. Konoha ninja Genma Shiranui and Raidō Namiashi intercepted the Sound Four, having observed their suspicious departure in the direction of Konoha. A battle ensued as the two Konoha shinobi confronted Sakon and his comrades. To gain the upper hand, the Sound Four activated the second level of their cursed seals, enhancing their abilities and unleashing their full power against Genma and Raidō. The intense clash left Genma and Raidō defeated, while Sakon and the rest of the Sound Four were left physically drained and exhausted from the battle.
Realizing the need to buy some time, the Sound Four hastily set up traps in the surrounding forest, hoping to deter their pursuers. Despite their frustration at the delay, the group had no choice but to rest briefly, gathering their strength before continuing their mission. Time was of the essence, and they had to press forward swiftly.
However, their respite was short-lived. The Sasuke Recovery Team, consisting of Naruto Uzumaki, Shikamaru Nara, Kiba Inuzuka, and Akamaru, managed to locate the Sound Four's whereabouts. Using his formidable Shadow Imitation Technique, Shikamaru ensnared all members of the Sound Four, rendering them immobile and under his control. The situation seemed dire for Sakon and his comrades.
Yet, in a cunning move, Ukon, Sakon's twin brother, took advantage of the distraction caused by Shikamaru's focus on the others. Ukon discreetly separated from Sakon and launched a surprise attack from the cover of the trees, successfully breaking Shikamaru's hold on the rest of the Sound Four. With Ukon merging back into Sakon, the group swiftly regrouped and proceeded ahead to complete their mission, leaving Shikamaru and the Sasuke Recovery Team behind.
After being pursued by the Sasuke Recovery Team once again, the Sound Four found themselves in another confrontation. Chōji Akimichi had been left behind to face Jirobo, while Kidomaru volunteered to handle the remaining members of the recovery team. This left Sakon, Ukon, and Tayuya with the task of swiftly delivering Sasuke to Orochimaru.
However, the determined recovery team managed to catch up to them by the following day. This time, Sakon took it upon himself to personally deal with their pursuers. However, the recovery team's resourcefulness allowed them to outmaneuver Sakon and Tayuya, successfully intercepting the barrel containing Sasuke. In the ensuing struggle to regain control of Sasuke, a paper bomb exploded, causing Sakon, Ukon, Kiba Inuzuka, and Akamaru to be knocked off a cliff and fall into a deep trench.
As they found themselves in close quarters, a fierce battle ensued between the twins and the canine duo. Ukon made his presence known, halting Kiba and Akamaru's Fang Passing Fang attack that was aimed at Sakon's vulnerable position. Urged by Ukon to remember the urgency of their mission, Sakon agreed, and the two brothers activated the second stage of their cursed seals.
Kiba and Akamaru attempted to retaliate with a second Fang Wolf Fang attack, aiming to tear their opponents apart. However, Sakon and Ukon utilized their Rashōmon, a formidable defensive technique, to block the assault. Though impressed that the canine duo managed to make a dent in their formidable barrier, Sakon and Ukon remained undeterred.
The twins shifted to the offensive, determined to finish off Kiba and Akamaru. However, in a surprising turn of events, Akamaru sacrificed himself to shield his owner, taking a blow meant for Kiba. Blinded by the unexpected attack, Sakon found himself incapacitated when Akamaru unleashed a stream of acidic urine, directly hitting his eyes. This unforeseen twist temporarily incapacitated Sakon and significantly hindered their progress.
After Sakon was temporarily blinded by Akamaru's acidic attack, Ukon took advantage of the situation. Utilizing their unique kekkei genkai, Ukon activated the Parasite Demon Demolition Technique and invaded Kiba's body, intending to destroy him at a cellular level. The technique allowed Ukon to manipulate his opponent's body from within.
However, Ukon's confidence was shattered when Kiba revealed his cunning. In a surprising move, Kiba deliberately stabbed himself in the stomach, forcing Ukon to abandon his host's body to prevent his own demise. The unexpected counterattack exploited the vulnerability of the Parasite Demon Demolition Technique, catching Ukon off guard and allowing Kiba and Akamaru to escape.
To further ensure their escape, Kiba threw a kunai at Ukon and released smoke bombs, creating a diversion and leaving behind a decoy rigged with explosives and kunai to deceive Ukon. Surviving the trap, Ukon, now furious and determined to avenge their earlier setback, merged back into Sakon's body to facilitate their recovery and heal their wounds. With renewed determination, Sakon and Ukon agreed to keep Kiba alive long enough to exact their revenge and eliminate him and his loyal companion. Following the trail of blood left behind by Kiba's injury, Sakon tracked their movements. However, upon reaching the location, all he found was Kiba's discarded jacket. Through deduction, Sakon surmised that Kiba and Akamaru had plunged into the nearby river, eluding their pursuers once again.
With Kiba's jacket in hand, Sakon handed it to Ukon, instructing him to use Kiba's scent to track and approach their target undetected. The brothers once again separated, each determined to locate Kiba and Akamaru. Emerging from the river, Ukon ventured into a nearby forest where he eventually discovered Kiba and his ninken companion. Showing Kiba the jacket, Ukon told him how he masked his own scent with Kiba's belongings to throw them off.
Ukon wasted no time and launched a deadly attack with a kunai, targeting Kiba and Akamaru. However, his attempt was abruptly halted by the intervention of Kankurō, who stepped in to protect his allies. Kankurō engaged Ukon using his puppet Karasu, initiating a fierce battle between the two.
While Ukon clashed with Kankurō, Sakon took advantage of the diversion to make his move. He swiftly approached Kankurō from behind, intending to merge with him and seize control of his body. However, to his surprise, Sakon realized that his target was not Kankurō himself but his puppet, Kuroari. In a sudden turn of events, Kuroari impaled Sakon, inflicting a severe blow.
Reacting swiftly, Ukon activated the second stage of his cursed seal, creating a shield to protect Sakon from further harm. Sakon reverted to his normal form and entered Ukon's body, utilizing their unique ability to heal injuries. However, this put the brothers at a disadvantage since Ukon was not accustomed to being the main body.
As Ukon returned to his original form, he silently acknowledged that his chakra reserves were running low. Meanwhile, Kankurō devised a strategic plan. He maneuvered his puppet Karasu, luring Ukon closer to Kuroari. Unaware of the trap, Ukon dodged Karasu's attacks, unknowingly being led toward Kuroari's waiting hollow abdomen.
In a swift and calculated move, Kuroari opened its hollow cavity, causing Ukon to stumble and become ensnared within. Ukon demanded to be released, trapped and vulnerable within the puppet's confines. Taking advantage of the situation, Kankurō activated his Black Secret Technique Machine One Shot, impaling both Sakon and Ukon.
During the Fourth Shinobi World War, Kabuto Yakushi used his reanimation jutsu to resurrect Sakon, Ukon, and the rest of the Sound Four. The reanimated Sound Four were deployed to the Land of Lightning's peninsula, where they encountered Kiba once again. Despite their enhanced bodies as a result of Kabuto's summoning, Sakon and Ukon were defeated by Kiba's skill and determination.
However, the reanimated duo quickly reconstructed themselves and enacted the Space-Time Technique Formula: Underworld Turnover. This powerful jutsu allowed them to teleport themselves, their team, and their opponents to a different location, creating a barrier known as the Underworld Turnover.
Within the barrier, Sakon and Ukon regrouped with their comrades, ready to continue their battles against their enemies. They switched opponents as the battles waged on, while Shikamaru analyzed their techniques and strategies.
To their satisfaction, Sakon and Ukon revealed that even their defeats would not release the barrier, trapping their adversaries within. Fueled by their deep-seated hatred for the Konoha shinobi, the Sound Four unleashed their full power, overwhelming their opponents with relentless aggression.
Taking advantage of the Sound Four's hatred, Shikamaru devised a plan to manipulate their emotions and lure Naruto to the barrier. The goal was to break his comrades free from the confines of the barrier. Shikamaru skillfully provoked the Sound Four, further fueling their animosity and drawing Naruto into the conflict.
As the battles raged on, Naruto and his allies managed to break free the souls of the Sound Four's most despised enemies, relieving them from their torment. However, Sakon, Ukon, and their comrades still harbored intense hatred toward Naruto and sought to exact their revenge.
Despite their determination, Sakon and Ukon were easily defeated by Naruto, whose power proved to be too overwhelming. Their souls returned to the afterlife, ending their brief resurgence in the Fourth Shinobi World War.
In his relentless pursuit of power and identity, Kabuto Yakushi conducted an experiment to assimilate the DNA of the Sound Five, including Sakon and Ukon. Through this process, Kabuto gained access to the twins' unique kekkei genkai, a powerful genetic trait.
Harnessing their DNA, Kabuto utilized his extensive knowledge of medical ninjutsu to create a construct of Sakon. This construct emerged from the base of his navel snake, taking on the form and characteristics of Sakon. Remarkably, Kabuto's mastery allowed him to morph this construct into any of the other members of the Sound Five or even Orochimaru, thereby enabling him to utilize their individual abilities.
With the ability to transform into Sakon or any other member of the Sound Five at will, Kabuto acquired a formidable arsenal of techniques and skills. This fusion of their genetic material granted him a comprehensive understanding of their kekkei genkai, allowing him to manipulate and enhance their powers to suit his own purposes.
Sakon, known for his spiteful and confident nature, had a deep enjoyment for combat. He relished in the thrill of battle and took pleasure in taunting and belittling his opponents. This arrogant attitude was something that Orochimaru and Kabuto took note of as they recognized Sakon as the fastest and strongest member of the Sound Four. Sakon took great pride in these traits and considered them a testament to his abilities.
Sakon had a tendency to prolong battles by toying with his adversaries. He would intentionally use unnecessarily powerful techniques to showcase his skills and demonstrate his superiority. This desire to show off often slowed down the rest of his group when he became engrossed in an engaging opponent. Despite this flaw, Sakon's confidence remained unshaken, and he relished every opportunity to demonstrate his prowess in combat.
Ukon, on the other hand, possessed a strong sense of self-confidence but was more prone to quick-tempered outbursts compared to Sakon. Despite their differing personalities, the twins shared a close bond and maintained a good relationship with each other. During combat, they were capable of viewing each other objectively, recognizing each other's strengths and weaknesses.
While Sakon typically took on the role of the main body due to his more active nature, he acknowledged Ukon's authority as the older brother. Sakon faithfully obeyed any orders given by Ukon, demonstrating a deep sense of respect and loyalty towards his sibling.
Sakon and Ukon, like their fellow members of the Sound Five, possessed an arrogant attitude that led them to believe they could defeat formidable opponents such as Kakashi. They displayed their arrogance by constantly referring to their enemies as "trash," underestimating their capabilities. Among the Sound Four, Sakon was particularly known for his hot temper, and he was the type of fighter who wouldn't stop until he had killed his enemy. Despite Sakon's inclination to prolong battles, Ukon's impatience and haste served as a counterbalance, often pushing Sakon to conclude fights swiftly.
Both Sakon and Ukon had their own individual moral perspectives, similar to some of their teammates. Ukon, in particular, exhibited his sense of morality when he believed that Kiba had abandoned his loyal partner, Akamaru, during their battle, commenting on what he perceived as a heartless act.
In the anime, upon being resurrected, Sakon, Ukon, and the rest of the Sound Five harbored deep bitterness towards those who had killed them. Fueled by a thirst for revenge, they were devoted to seeking vengeance against the Sasuke Recovery Team.
This portrayal highlights the twins' arrogance, short-tempered nature, and differing approaches to combat. Sakon's temper and desire for prolonged battles clashed with Ukon's impatience, creating a dynamic that influenced their fighting styles. Their individual moral viewpoints added complexity to their characters, showcasing their distinct perspectives within the group.
Sakon and Ukon possessed distinct physical features that contributed to their androgynous appearance. Both twins had fair skin and straight, dark blue hair, although in the anime, their hair color had a more light blue-gray shade. Their long bangs covered each of their different eyes, with Ukon's bangs on the left side and Sakon's on the right. Dark markings surrounded their eyes, adding to their mysterious and striking look. Additionally, they both wore a green shade of lipstick, further accentuating their unique appearance.
Sakon was typically depicted with a smirk on his face and his head slightly tilted downward, giving him an air of confidence and superiority. As Ukon resided within Sakon's body, his head would protrude from the back of Sakon's upper back, with his hair hanging limply, obscuring his face. This arrangement added to their enigmatic presence.
Both twins bore a cursed seal on their foreheads, positioned just above their eyes, which were concealed by their bangs. This marking further emphasized their connection to Orochimaru and their affiliation with the Sound Four.
In terms of attire, the twins wore black shirts underneath brown tunics with long sleeves. The hem of their tunics displayed the symbol of the Sound Four. They paired their tunics with black skin-tight shorts. Completing their outfit were black arm-warmers, often mistaken for being part of their sleeves, and traditional black shinobi sandals. They also wore calf-length leg warmers covered by bandages, adding an additional layer of protection and utility to their attire. Around their waists, they sported a purple, rope-like belt tied in an inverted bow.
To differentiate between the two, Sakon wore a dark-red beaded necklace around his neck. He also carried a large scroll behind his back, secured through one of the loops of his rope-like belt. In contrast, Ukon lacked any additional adornments on his uniform and had a somewhat deeper voice compared to his brother.
After being reincarnated by Kabuto Yakushi, Sakon and Ukon maintained their appearance from when they were alive, with the exception of their gray sclerae, a common trait among the other resurrected ninja. This distinct feature further emphasized their undead state and the manipulation of their bodies by Kabuto.
Sakon, considering himself the strongest member of the Sound Four, was widely regarded as the most dangerous among the group. Orochimaru even acknowledged him as the fastest member, showcasing his exceptional speed. Sakon often took every opportunity to demonstrate his power by employing unnecessarily potent techniques, showcasing his confidence and a desire to show off. In the anime, their formidable strength was deemed significant enough for Kabuto Yakushi to reincarnate them, further emphasizing their capabilities. Shikamaru Nara recognized the twins' prowess, stating that their skill level was on par with that of jōnin.
Both Sakon and Ukon excelled in taijutsu, showcasing their mastery in close combat. They possessed remarkable reflexes, with Sakon being particularly agile due to his more physically active nature. His strength was exemplified when he effortlessly held Sasuke Uchiha upside down by his ankle using only one hand. Furthermore, Sakon's speed allowed him to dodge Kiba Inuzuka's Passing Fang technique at close range, displaying his impressive agility and evasion abilities.
The twins were adept at exploiting their opponents' focus on Sakon, utilizing their kekkei genkai and teamwork to their advantage. Ukon, being stealthy and strategic, would often seize the opportunity to catch their adversaries off guard while they concentrated on Sakon. Ukon's ability to separate from Sakon's body without detection enabled him to perform surprise attacks, swiftly making contact with and merging bodies with their targets. Additionally, Ukon utilized Kiba's jacket to conceal his scent, further enhancing their stealth tactics.
When Sakon and Ukon were separated from each other, they possessed the ability to execute a joint technique known as Summoning: Rashōmon. By positioning themselves at a specific distance apart, they could summon a massive gate called Rashōmon.
In the anime adaptation, following their resurrection and modifications, their powers were further enhanced, enabling them to summon not just one, but three Rashōmon gates. Moreover, the central gate of the formation was upgraded to include a projectile launcher, adding an additional offensive element to their defensive technique.
Sakon and Ukon possessed a unique kekkei genkai that granted them the extraordinary ability to merge and separate from each other at will. Ukon primarily utilized this ability by residing within Sakon's body, selectively extending certain body parts to provide aid during battles. This rendered them exceptionally dangerous in close-quarters combat, as Ukon's presence effectively protected Sakon's vulnerable areas, enabling Sakon to execute devastating three-armed punches and three-legged kicks.
Even if the opponent managed to block the initial strike, the subsequent strikes would catch them off guard. In the animated adaptation, their leg movements were so formidable that they could generate a whirlwind by rapidly spinning their legs.
When Ukon separated from Sakon's body, the twins could independently and simultaneously launch attacks against their adversaries. However, due to Ukon's lack of familiarity with extended periods of independent movement, he would tire easily. Furthermore, since Ukon typically functioned as the secondary body and lacked substantial experience as the primary body, he encountered challenges in controlling his movements when Sakon required healing within his body.
Nonetheless, when the two merged together, they possessed the remarkable ability to rapidly heal any injuries they sustained. This regenerative power was particularly potent when they were fused, allowing them to swiftly recover from wounds. Under the influence of the cursed seal, this ability was further enhanced, granting them the capability to merge their consciousness and physical form with the bodies of others, amplifying their already formidable combat prowess.
The Sound Four, including Sakon, were renowned for their exceptional skills in sealing techniques. Sakon, like his comrades, possessed profound knowledge and proficiency in the art of sealing. One notable display of his sealing prowess was his ability to summon various items using a giant scroll. With a swift motion, Sakon could draw forth objects from the scroll, enabling him to adapt to different combat situations effectively.
Furthermore, during his battle against Genma Shiranui, Sakon demonstrated his mastery over sealing techniques by summoning a kunai with a mere subtle movement of his hand. This subtle gesture implied that he might have concealed seals underneath his clothing, allowing him to summon weapons or other objects instantaneously.
In addition to his summoning abilities, Sakon employed the Dark Sealing Method—a formidable sealing technique. He employed this method as an additional measure to confine Sasuke Uchiha within a box, preventing him from escaping while he adapted to the effects of his Cursed Seal of Heaven. The Dark Sealing Method showcased Sakon's intricate understanding of sealing arts and his ability to effectively immobilize powerful opponents.
Despite the tumultuous dynamics within the Sound Four, these skilled shinobi possessed extensive knowledge and proficiency in a range of Cooperation Ninjutsu techniques. One such technique was the Combination Transformation, allowing them to assume the roles of Orochimaru's bodyguards while concealing their true numbers. This strategic maneuver not only provided a deceptive advantage but also enhanced their overall combat effectiveness.
During the intense battle between the Third Hokage and Orochimaru, the Sound Four employed the Four Violet Flames Formation. This formation created a powerful barrier that effectively sealed off the surrounding area, preventing anyone from entering or exiting its confines. The purpose of this technique was to control the battlefield and limit the interference of outside forces, isolating the combatants within the enclosed space.
When transporting Sasuke to Orochimaru, the Sound Four utilized another intricate technique known as the Four Black Fogs Formation. This barrier-like technique subjected the target to a temporary death-like state, facilitating Sasuke's adaptation to the cursed seal while making his transportation more manageable. By inducing a state resembling death, they could mitigate the potential risks and challenges associated with transporting a vulnerable and unstable individual.
In the anime adaptation, the Sound Four showcased yet another powerful technique called the Space-Time Technique Formula: Underworld Turnover. This advanced ninjutsu involved creating a specialized barrier within which both the user and the target's souls were confined. This technique effectively separated the souls from their physical bodies, resulting in a unique form of imprisonment or confrontation in the spiritual realm.
Furthermore, the Sound Four possessed the Sound Four: Summoning: Four Beasts Encirclement Formation, enabling them to summon their individual animal summons. This technique allowed them to encircle and trap their opponents from all directions, strategically limiting their mobility and providing a significant advantage in battle.
As esteemed warriors in Orochimaru's ranks, Sakon and Ukon possessed a formidable cursed seal that enhanced their abilities. Upon activating Level 1 of the seal, intricate curved lines and blotches spread across their entire bodies. However, when they reached Level 2, their appearance transformed, resembling fearsome oni creatures. Their skin turned red, their eyes gained yellow irises with dark black sclerae, and black curved markings emerged from the corners of their eyes in an upward fashion.
Their fingernails grew longer and sharper, their lips turned black, and their mouths stretched from ear to ear, revealing elongated canine teeth. Waist-length white hair grew on their heads, and they sprouted a single long horn on opposite sides of their foreheads. Additionally, their hardened skin folded like scales, forming spiky armor on their arms and legs.
With Level 2 of their cursed seal, Sakon and Ukon gained a unique ability: the power to deconstruct their bodies on a molecular level and infiltrate the bodies of their opponents. Inside the target's body, they had the ability to manipulate cells and proteins, effectively causing the target's death before allowing them to reconstruct their own body.
However, this technique had a drawback, as any damage inflicted on the host body would also affect Sakon and Ukon. This was demonstrated when Kiba stabbed himself in the abdomen with a kunai, causing Ukon to scream in pain and cough up blood.
In the anime, after their reincarnation, Sakon and Ukon discovered that their cursed seal could tap into even greater power when fueled by intense feelings of hatred and rage. This enabled them to achieve incredibly rapid fusion and fission of their kekkei genkai, further amplifying their formidable abilities.
Sakon and Ukon possessed the following jutsus in their arsenal of techniques:
Attack of the Twin Demons
Barrier Method Formation
Combination Transformation
Dark Sealing Method
Four Black Fogs Formation
Four Violet Flames Formation
Multiple Connected Feet
Multiple Connected Fists

(Sakon to his team-mates) "This village really ought be taught a lesson. We could stroll right in there and wipe them all out!"
(Sakon to Sasuke Uchiha) "Stop your prattling, you little weakling. Come on, kid. I'm waiting. I wanna play do-re-mi on those ribs of yours til they crack!"
(Sakon about Sasuke) "This runt is going make me wait any longer and I'm gonna wring his little neck!"
(Sakon to Sasuke) "You're not Lord Orochimaru's only pet."
(Sakon to Sasuke) "You mustn't lose sight of your purpose. Life in this village is little more than bondage for you. Sever your ties to this pathetic place. If you could do that, then there will be no limit to the power you can wield. Remember your purpose!"
(Ukon to Sakon) "Two on two. Works for me. Right, Sakon?"
(Sakon to Kiba Inuzuka) "You know, we're inseparable...Usually my big brother sleeps inside me, but when it comes to a fight, he likes to help."
(Ukon about Kiba and Akamaru) "There's no time for games, Sakon. They all die now!"
(Ukon to Kiba) "A sharp sense of smell and a set of claws are not going be enough to beat me. Face it, you're in over your head, little dog!
Masashi Kishimoto, the creator of Naruto, made Sakon the last member of the Sound Four. He had trouble deciding whom Sakon should fight, so he created Ukon. Ukon was placed inside Sakon's body, allowing them to function as a single person. They were then able to participate in a two-on-two battle against Kiba and Akamaru. This decision helped Kishimoto solve the problem and added an interesting dynamic to the story.
The first kanji in Sakon's name (左) means "left," while the one in Ukon's name (右) means "right." Their names could be interpreted as a play on two sections of a nunchaku.
In their second level of cursed seal form, the brothers' faces bear a resemblance to demonic Hannya masks used in Noh performances.
In the omake of Naruto: Shippūden episode 129, Sakon, Ukon, and Kidōmaru can be seen picking masks.
Sakon and Ukon's birth date, June 20, aligns with the Western astrological sign Gemini, known for representing twins.
