Life of Shamo

Shamo grew up in Iwagakure under the care of his grandmother. He often caused her stress due to his behaviour. One day, he met Boruto on the Thunder Train and tried to help him open a jammed window. Unfortunately, Shamo ended up hurting his hand in the process. Despite the pain, he assured Boruto that he was fine and returned to his seat.

Later, everyone on the train fell asleep, only to wake up in a secluded room. Shamo tried to convince Kiseru to conserve his strength, but things worsened. Oga revealed himself and started conducting experiments. During one of them, Shamo almost fell from an unsteady platform, and Boruto had to save him twice. Shamo also helped a girl with a twisted ankle to the ladder.

When Oga gave them candles symbolizing their lives for the next experiment, he warned them they'd die if the flames went out. Shamo asked if it was safe to let someone else hold their candle, and Oga clarified that they'd only die if the candle went out in someone else's hand. As they navigated a water-filled area, Shamo carried a girl out. In the next room, he and the other shinobi protected non-shinobi from a dust storm while safeguarding everyone's candles.

Shamo initially tried using an earth wall, but he was exhausted and shielded them with his body. He moved ahead with a girl he liked, but she left him after he helped her up a wall. The group caught up, and he was dismayed to see the girl with someone else. On a slow-moving elevator, they realized their candles wouldn't last the ascent, and Oga wanted them to steal each other's candles.

To outsmart Oga's plan, Boruto exploited the rules, combining everyone's remains into one long candle shared by all. This clever move ensured they all survived the ride, completing the experiment successfully.

Before the next experiment, the group shared their dreams, and Shamo's was to make his grandmother happy. When the experiment started, Namua found bloodstains on the floor, making Shamo anxious and irritating Kiseru. Shamo pressed a switch, thinking it would turn on a light, but it triggered the ceiling to descend.

He and Boruto pressed more switches, making the room more dangerous until only ceiling spikes were left. The last switch revealed safe alcoves, but Fugō got into one before Shamo. Boruto then found a hidden space under the floor, and Shamo helped by raising an earth wall to hold the ceiling back. After convincing Batta to assist, they discovered a weak spot, and Boruto's Rasengan broke through, creating extra space to ensure everyone survived.

Shamo noticed that Batta and Boruto were taking a while and some thought they might be plotting. When they returned, the group faced the "Calculation" experiment. Shamo picked cards for Boruto and Batta, each with a number from 1 to 8. The task was to sum to 7 to pass a gate within two hours.

Shamo got an 8 card and celebrated, but Boruto scolded him for being careless. They joined Namua and Yatsume, who figured out how to maximize the number of people passing. Shamo suggested turning Boruto's 6 into 9, but the idea was dismissed.

They found Batta and Fugo's bodies, and Rokuro arrived, planning to kill everyone to reach Oga's goal early. Rokuro took Shamo hostage, but Boruto's attack allowed him to escape.

Realizing they could all pass if they claimed Rokuro's cards, they defeated him. Boruto gave Shamo enough cards to survive, and Shamo revealed that Batta and Fugo were already dead when he claimed their cards. Boruto shared Batta's suspicion of Kiseru. Shamo and Yatsume helped the injured Namua through the gate, while Boruto stayed to confront Kiseru.

Shamo talked with Yatsume about Naruto's leadership style. When Namua couldn't walk, Shamo went to find first aid kits. He told Rokuro about the suspicion that Kiseru might be working for Oga, but Rokuro suggested finding Kiseru to force him to reveal the way out. Namua opened the closing gate, allowing the others to reach Boruto and Kiseru.

Kiseru escaped underground and attacked, with Shamo protecting Yatsume from falling debris. In a confrontation, Kiseru focused on Yatsume, but Shamo forced him to retreat using his Earth Release. Shamo found a scroll Kiseru dropped, revealing the truth about Kiseru's mission to investigate disappearances. Rushing to prevent a fight between Kiseru and Boruto, Shamo was hit by Kiseru's attack before informing Boruto of Kiseru's allegiance.

Everything was a tricky plan under a genjutsu while everyone was deep asleep. When Boruto didn't give up on Yatsume, the real Oga, she woke up from the illusion by herself and freed everyone. Shamo discovered a letter meant for Boruto and gave it to him. Boruto mentioned it was from Oga but didn't share more, teasing Shamo about it.

Shamo’s Personality

Shamo grew up in Iwagakure with his grandmother and he tends to cause problems for his grandmother, probably due to his actions. When he met Boruto on the Thunder Train, he tried to help him but ended up hurting his hand in the process. Despite that, he assured Boruto that he was okay.

During various experiments, Shamo showed a caring and protective side. He helped a girl with a twisted ankle and shielded others from danger, even though his attempts sometimes fell short due to exhaustion. In challenging situations, Shamo displayed a mix of courage and clever thinking.
