Reaper Death Seal Jutsu

Reaper Death Seal Jutsu is said to have originated from the Uzumaki Clan. This clan is especially famous for its Sealing Jutsu which Kushina Uzumaki, Minato Namikaze’s wife, excels in. Minato also learned this Jutsu from her as well.

Minato uses this Jutsu in order to save the Hidden Leaf Village and to ensure the safety of his son, Naruto Uzumaki. He uses the technique to seal the Nine-Tailed Fox, Kurama, inside Naruto. He also managed to separate the Yin and Yang from Kurama, keeping the Yang inside Naruto and taking the Yin with him to the grave.

The other instance where this deadly Jutsu is used is when Hiruzen Sarutobi and Orochimaru clash. During their fight, despite being old, Hiruzen fights bravely and stands on his own to a large extent. He finally decides to end things, and reluctantly uses this Jutsu against Orochimaru. Although he failed to completely seal Orochimaru, he managed to take his arms away, permanently making him disabled and placing in constant excruciating pain.

Orochimaru, being as smart as he is, finds a way to regain his arms. He uses the Dead Demon Consuming Seal: Release, which releases all the souls inside the Shinigami. However, there is a downside to this. It requires the caster to slice their stomach, which would release the souls, but would leave the user dead. Orochimaru quickly switches bodies in order to save himself before he dies, regaining his arm.

1. After performing the Jutsu, the user’s soul leaves the body and is grabbed by a Shinigami that appears behind them.
2. The soul is restrained by the Shinigami’s hair.
3. The Shinigami uses a prayer bead with its left arm and starts chanting until a cursed seal appears on its arm.
4. It drives its arm through the caster’s body and then grabs the target.
5. When grabbed by the Shinigami, it is impossible to move.
6. Any Jutsu that was cast at that time is also negated.
7. When the enemy is immobilized, the caster has to physically separate the soul from the body.
8. Only the people who are touched by the Shinigami can see it.

1. Minato and Kurama

Minato not only seals Kurama inside Naruto, but also separates the Yin and Yang Chakra from Kurama, sealing only the Yang Chakra inside the child. He also leaves his and his wife’s Chakra inside Naruto, so that when the time is right, he will appear before his son.

2. Hiruzen Seals Orochimaru’s Hand Away

Hiruzen uses the Reaper Seal Jutsu to seal away Orochimaru’s hands. Although he failed to take his life, he manages to take away his hands, which made it so that Orochimaru could never do hand signs again.

3. Orochimaru gets his Hands Back

After his redemption, Orochimaru gets his hands back by performing the Dead Demon Consuming Seal: Release Jutsu, which allows Orochimaru to regain his arms after offering himself as a sacrifice. He uses a White Zetsu as a vessel for himself, regaining his powers. He also revives the four previous Hokage
