The Senju Clan is one of the founders of the Hidden Leaf Village. Although it used to be one of the greatest clans of its time, it has currently disbanded and does not have as many members as it used to have back in the day.
The members of the Senju clan are famous for their incredibly high amount of Chakra and life force. Eventually, through the years, Hashirama Senju also obtained the Wood Release, which made him one of the strongest Shinobi to exist.
This clan is also a distant relative to the Uzumaki Clan, who would be in very close relations with each other. The Uzumaki would perform Sealing Jutsu whenever they wanted and sometimes they even married, like with Hashirama Senju and Mito Uzumaki.

The Senju Clan members are descendants of Asura Otsutsuki, the younger son of Hagoromo Otsutsuki. They are distant relatives of the Uzumaki clan and an even more distant relative of the Uchiha Clan. Senju clan consists of descendants of Asura Otsutsuki and thus they received their incredibly high Chakra reserves and life force from him.
The Uchiha and Senju were at constant war for reasons they didn’t know. Everyone had forgotten the story of Indra and Asura, and the war was just a constant cycle of death. Seeing this, two people from either clan, called Madara Uchiha and Hashirama Senju decided to form a truce and form a village where both could live in peace. This is how the Hidden Leaf Village was formed and how the Senju Clan settled in.
Hashirama Senju wanted Madara Uchiha to be the Hokage but his brother, Tobirama Senju would force him to conduct an election. Hashirama won the election and thus became the First Hokage of the Hidden Leaf Village.
Later in their lives, both Hashirama Senju and Tobirama Senju die in the line of duty. After this, the only Senju known in the current generation is Tsunade, the granddaughter of Hashirama Senju. However, she did not have any children and thus it is assumed that the Senju line ended there.
Although the Senju Clan is not as strong as it was back in its prime, the Hidden Leaf Village still lives according to its philosophy. The will of fire is something that each and every villager of the Hidden Leaf lives by, so in a way, the Senju clan still lives through Konoha’s politics.
All clans have leaders who think about the Clan’s future and works towards it. The Senju clan is not an exception. These are the few known leaders of the Senju Clan:
The first-ever Hokage of the Hidden Leaf and he was known as the God of Shinobi and possessed an immense amount of power. He was also adept at Wood Release, a Kekkei Genkai that he received.
The Second Hokage of the Hidden Leaf Village. He was famous for being a prodigy who understood Chakra and developed numerous techniques before his passing in war.
Tsunade is the Fifth Hokage of the Hidden Leaf. She managed to emulate her grandfather’s incredible healing ability with her healing Jutsu. She was a healer, but the loss of two loved ones caused here to be afraid of blood. However, she overcomes this after meeting Naruto Uzumaki.
