Tenzo was part of the Iburi clan, known for their ability to transform into smoke. However, this power was a big problem for the clan as they couldn't control it completely.
They had to live in caves to protect themselves from the danger of the wind. Tenzo and his older sister Yukimi watched helplessly as many clan members disappeared in pain right before them.
One day, a ninja named Orochimaru from Konohagakure, also known as the Sannin, came to their cave. He promised to save the clan by giving them his Cursed Seal, which helped them control their ability quickly.
Orochimaru said he needed a young clan member for his research to improve their control over the power. Tenzo was chosen and went with Orochimaru. Sadly, Tenzo's life ended in one of Orochimaru's research tanks, where he was used for various experiments.
After Kinoe left the ANBU's Root Division in Konohagakure, he wanted to begin a new life. Kakashi Hatake suggested adopting a new name, so Kinoe chose "Tenzo" since he didn't know his real name. He liked it when Yukimi called him by that name and grew attached to it.
Tenzo had brown hair and wore a rugged sleeveless t-shirt and shorts.
Tenzo never showed his abilities, but being an Iburi Clan member, he might have the ability to turn into smoke and enter other bodies.
