He is also somewhat of a perfectionist, always striving to make his various projects succeed, and likewise looks down on those who are sloppy and/or reckless in their projects. During his research stumbled upon the Ryuuchi cave and wanted to master senjutsu. He was unable to enter sage mode due to his fragile body instead developed an alternative method of harnessing his sage mode chakra using cursed hand seals.

As his test subjects began to die, Orochimaru got caught red-handed by Hiruzen’ even though he knew that it was his duty, the Third Hokage could not bring himself to kill his student. Seeing this as an opportunity Orochimaru escaped but he encountered young Kakashi and despite his best efforts, Orochimaru escaped.

He ultimately escape Konoha and joined the elite criminal organization Akatsuki. He was then partnered with Sasori and the duo did a lot of good for the organization. When Itachi joined Akatsuki, Orochimaru was quite intrigued by him. He tried to steal Itachi’s body to gain the Sharingan but Itachi trapped him inside a genjutsu and defeated him easily.

Orochimaru is an exceptional shinobi who is recognized as one of the strongest to ever exist. He was one of the only people who could compete against Hanso during his prime and became a Sannin. Orochimaru had powerful chakra reserves which were enough to crack stones.
