The Buzzard in GTA V is a helicopter designed for use by the Los Santos Police Department. It is essentially the unarmed version of the Buzzard Attack Chopper, with a sleek and simple design. It lacks the stub wings and ammo box on the rear bay that are present on the armed version, and bears the registration "N230MP" on the sides of the upper section.
The helicopter features a small flight instrument panel on the center, which uses the same "Flyer" dial set as the armed variant, the Maverick and the Police Maverick. The camera/searchlight can be operated by the NPC pilot, but it is fixed and cannot be angled towards a target. The aircraft is only available in a single primary color, which is black.
The Buzzard is a fast and nimble helicopter with stable handling, quick yaw and pitch capabilities, and good incline and decline speeds. While it lacks onboard weapons, it can serve as a defense helicopter with any passenger making use of their weapons.
The helicopter is powered by a single turboshaft engine located on the rear section and features a 5-bladed rotor with a higher-pitched sound than the Maverick due to its faster pacing.
This vehicle cannot be modified.
This vehicle does not appear in any storyline missions of GTA V.
The helicopter lacks the red and green navigation lights on either side. This is likely a developer oversight, as the armed variant has the red and green lights on the stub wings.
The name "Buzzard" may be a reference to Buzzard 1, a Police Maverick helicopter from the Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas mission, "Reuniting the Families". "Buzzard" was also the Buzzard Attack Chopper's former name in TBOGT.
There is a "Los Santos Police" stencil within the texture file, but is not mapped on the model.
