The Ripley in GTA V has a large square-shaped body with a small wheelbase, featuring a yellow and black striped ram bar on the front and back, large squared headlights, and rectangular turn signals. The cabin has a large windshield and two long wipers in the center, with large doors, windows, and a set of rear-view mirrors.
The vehicle has FlyUS livery, complete with a Jet image on either side, and is available in a white primary color with a light gray or yellow secondary color. It retains the same oversized industrial wheels and has an updated interior with analog dials in the enhanced version.
The Ripley has average pickup, below average top speed, and poor brakes, but has a tight turning radius due to its short wheelbase. It can pack a powerful punch and easily tip over cars at low speeds. Its mid-to-rear-mounted engine configuration allows the vehicle to survive head-on collisions, but the openness of the cab makes the player vulnerable to gunfire.
The large tires can easily be shot and blown out, making getaways from police difficult. The truck has the same engine sound as the Trashmaster and is powered by a large engine with a 3-speed gearbox in a RWD layout.
This vehicle cannot be modified.
This vehicle does not play any role in any storyline missions of GTA V.
Can be found parked or driven around by NPCs at the Los Santos International Airport.
The Ripley's name is an homage to lead character Ellen Ripley of the Alien films played by Sigourney Weaver .In the second film in the franchise, Aliens, the APC used by the Colonial Marines was built using a decommissioned Hunslet ATT77 airliner tug as a base.
There is no radio in the Ripley in GTA V.
In GTA IV, the "Transparent Star" text above the FlyUS logo might be a reference to Star Alliance, as FlyUS takes influence from real life members of Star Alliance, mainly United Airlines, and (formerly) US Airways.
