Amayo’s background is shrouded in mystery as she had a very limited appearance in the series. Very little is known about her, like the fact that she is the ex-wife of Michiru Tsuki, the king of the Land of Moon, and mother of Hikaru Tsuki, the heir to the Land of Moon. She first appeared in Naruto the Movie: Guardians of the Crescent Moon Kingdom.
In the movie, Amayo had a son with Michiru and wed him three years before the unfortunate demise of Kakeru Tsuki, Michiru's father. But Michiru's personality would force the marriage to fail and later their marriage ended in a divorce. Because of the wedding contract she had signed prior to her marriage, Amayo was prohibited to keep their son with her and was forced to live away from him.
In the movie, she welcomes Hikaru home from his global travels but struggles to identify her ex-husband who had now gained considerable weight. She gets into a fight with him and tells him that there are things that are more important than money, and she became angry at him when he tried to make amends by offering her materialistic objects. As Ishidate, a mercenary ninja and antagonist in the movie is defeated, Michiru realizes that Amayo was teaching him that the most essential thing is to protect his loved ones.
This is the only instance Amayo ever appeared in the Naruto series. Based on this minimal appearance, Amayo is believed to be alive and well until any additional piece of information comes to light suggesting otherwise.
Amayo is a gentle soul. Amayo was characterized as being sensible by Kakeru Tsuki. Hikaru is very dear to Amayo, and she wants to keep him safe, no matter the cost. She would slap Michiru, her ex-husband and the ruler of the Land of Moon, for believing that money can buy happiness. She considers a person's loved ones to be the most significant and vital aspect of their existence. She will not compromise the happiness and safety of her loved ones for worldly possessions.
Amayo is a fairly tall woman with fair skin. She has bangs that cross her forehead and long, black hair. She has brown eyes, a white bead necklace, a pink earring in each ear, and a light green frock with no sleeves.
Amayo did not undergo the crucial training to be a shinobi or any formal combat training and thus does not possess any battle skills or tactics. Even if she possesses any abilities, that is still unknown.
Apart from the movie, Amayo also appears in the light novel based on the movie with the same title, “Naruto the Movie: Guardians of the Crescent Moon Kingdom.”
