Chiriku in Naruto

Chiriku was a part of Twelve Guardian Ninja which was indicated by the sash on his waist and he had a strong friendship with Asuma Sarutobi. When six of his members tried a coup d'etat, he fought against them but he, Asuma and Kazuma were the only survivors.

When the group disbanded, he became the head monk at the Fire Temple, an elite monastery, that is home to monks with special abilities. During his time with the Twelve Guardian Ninja, he had a a bounty of 30 million ryo placed on his head.

When it was discovered that the graves of his fallen allies were robbed, Chiriku contacted Konoha for help. It was revealed that since the coup d'etat Chiriku had been training Kazuma's child Sora. Ashamed of Kazuma's decision to join the coup d'etat, Chiriku was sympathetic towards Sora hardship and did what he could to keep his morale up.

After the failure of retrieving the corpses, it became clear that Sora was demonic and was becoming uncontrollable, so Chiriku decided to have Sora join Team Yamato and return to Konoha, filling in for Sai. This would help him and also placed him under Yamato’s watch.

Chiriku was a calm and composed person who couldn't be easily phased. He was a righteous man and whenever he got angry he would express greatly. He is also very sincere.

Chiriku was a bald man who had dark eyes and thick eyebrows. He wore a standard attire of the Ninja monk along with the sash worn by the members Twelve Guardian Ninja and often went barefoot.

Chiriku was quite proficient in barrier ninjutsu and was able to create around the Fire temple to protect it from intruders. He achieved mastery for the Temple's ultimate technique, Welcoming Approach: Thousand-Arm Murder. He used this to overpower Hidan and Kakuzu. He is skilled in fuinjutsu as he can be see suppressing Sora's Demon chakra.

Chiriku not only appears in the series but is also a video game character.
