Fū’s Background

Fū evolved into Chōmei at some point of time, becoming the Jinchūriki of Seven Tails. Growing up in the village of Takigakure as its Jinchūriki, the village leader, Shibuki, took great care to keep Fū safe. During that time, she was instilled with the value of loyalty and friendship.

She was captured by the Akatsuki at some unknown point, either before Gaara was captured by Deidara or at some point between Gaara’s capture and the capture of Yugito Nii by Kakuzu and Hidan.

Fū During The Chūnin Exams

Fū registered for the joint Konohagakure and Sunagakure Chūnin Exams because she was eager to meet people and was sick of leading a lonely existence. Shibuki was against the plan and worried that people may find out about Fū’s Jinchūriki status. He finally caved, expecting to take this as a chance to help Takigaruke regain its previous greatness.

While Fū was happy about this, Shibuki tasked Kevin and Yōrō with guarding Fū while pretending to be her genin teammates.

As soon as they got to the Chūnin Exams, Fū and her companions are divided into several rooms at random with Fū being placed in room 2. After everyone had settled in, Shikamaru Nara explained that each person only needed to respond to one question but that their team’s total score had to be exactly 100 to pass.

During this time, Fū employs a method of communication with her teammates, enabling them to share information about the questions they need to choose. After the allotted time had passed, Shikamaru presented a bonus question, asking which team member you would abandon to act as a decoy if necessary. He added that while the answer had to be unanimous, the person chosen would not be allowed to continue.

She remained silent, just like her teammates, and finally, their team won the first round. To reduce the number of competitors, a preliminary round was held that involved a race to Sunagakure with only the first 30 teams to arrive at the destination qualifying for the second phase.

Fū’s squad launched into the race first and arrived first at the finish line. Fū’s bodyguards then locked her in her room because they thought her irresponsible behavior would attract too much attention. Despite this, Fū erupted and confronted the other genin who were engaged in a fight. She showed off her hyperactive attitude, which calmed everyone down and caused everyone to head back to their rooms as dinner was ruined, much to her dismay.

Later, when Fū heard that Team Asuma was being assaulted outdoors by a huge scorpion, she hurried outside to check for herself. Fū easily defeated the beast while also wanting to have fun with it in order to save the kidnapped genin. The second exam started the next day, and each team received one of two scrolls.

The squad had to make it to the main building in the desert region after surviving in the Demon Desert for three days and by stealing the opposing scroll from an enemy team. During the second phase, Fū walks off and soon finds Gaara’s third Eye. However, once it vanishes, Fū doesn't give it any thought. Her teammates soon located her and called her.

Later, even after getting both required scrolls, Fū was adamant that she would not finish the exam without making some new friends. When she was reminded that she was taking the examinations for Shibuki’s benefit, she was persuaded to finish the exam. A severe sandstorm quickly followed and tore through the region. When Fū heard cries for assistance, she hurried outside to find the folks.

After rescuing a Suna-nin genin team, Gaara himself contacted Fū. Later, Fū was determined to finish this exam without making any friends despite getting both required scrolls. However, she was reminded that she was taking the examinations for Shibuki’s sake. Fū forties outside as soon as she heard people screaming for assistance. Gaara approached Fū after helping a Suna-nin genin squad.

Fū first reunited with her colleagues and guardians, and later sensed Gaara’s sorrow and discovered that he was a jinchūriki as well and that his tailed beast was being extracted. She rushed to assist him. However, Gaara ordered her to leave when she reached there, but she argued that she knew his suffering and wanted to assist. She made an effort to break the fūinjutsu chain, but was repulsed by it. The caster, Hōichi, decided to test his fūinjutsu on two jinchūriki simultaneously and started extracting Chōmei away from Fū.

Fū utilized her Cocoon to stall the extraction in an effort to stop it. Gaara thought this was meaningless because many people, including Hōichi, would prefer Gaara perish, but Fū insisted he can continue making friends. Team Guy and Fū’s teammates eventually showed up. They were able to divert Hōichi while Neji Hyuga came close to the jinchūriki by working together.

He was able to stop the extraction by blocking the chakra points in their bodies using his Gentle Fist. As a result, the chakra chains had to be taken off, which ultimately proved fatal for Hōichi when they turned on the Suna-nin and bound him. After the emergency was resolved, Fū went up to Neji and insisted that he be her friend. A shaken Neji agreed if she could let go of him.

Due to disputes occurring in the second exam, the Chūnin Exams were ultimately concluded before the beginning of the finals.

Fū’s Death

The Akatsuki members Kakuzu and Hidan found the team and apprehended Fū. Despite being aware of the rogue shinobi’s past, Fū was eager to become friends with another Takigakure’s shinobi. But according to Kakuzu, they don’t want to be her buddies. Following her capture, Fū was killed after her tailed beast was removed from her body and sealed inside the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path.

Fū During The Fourth Great Ninja War

Fū was revived by Kabuto Yakushi to battle the Allied Shinobi Forces before being mobilized with the other deceased jinchūriki in preparation for the Fourth Shinobi World War. Tobi transformed the resurrected jinchūriki into his own customized Six Paths of Pain, each of which had a Rinnegan and Sharingan in place of their left and right eyes, respectively. During the second day of the conflict, each jinchūriki was implanted with a chakra receiver and their individual tailed beast resealed within them.

Later, Fū and Tobi traveled together in search of Naruto Uzumaki and Killer B. The reincarnated jinchūriki were launched into war when they came across their opponents. Fū tried to obscure their vision using her Hiden: Hiding in Scale Powder Technique, concealing Yugito Nii and Han’s ambush after the opposition dodged Utakata’s strike. But when this assault was unsuccessful, she, like the others, materialized two of the beast’s tails to unleash the power of her own particular tailed beast.

She attacked B head-on using these tails, which also served as wings. Fū continued to narrowly avoid both of B’s swords even after she successfully avoided his initial attacks with Samehada. Due to the Rinnegan, she shared a field of vision with the other Six Paths of Pain and Tobi, which allowed her to accomplish this feat.

However, Fū was eventually detained by B using his sealing technique after becoming incapacitated from the Eight-Tails’ catastrophic onslaught. Before the sealing is finished, she manages to break free by adopting her Version 2 form, and she then uses her Bug Bite technique to attack Naruto.

After Kakashi Hatake and Might Guy’s intervention, the other reborn jinchūriki reunite. Fū charges towards Naruto but is stopped by Guy’s devastating blow. She and the other jinchūriki band together once more as they get ready to face the two Konohagakure jōnin after Han’s earlier attack is blocked by Kakashi.

As Tobi is ready to go full-out, Fū is compelled to assume her full Seven-Tails form after Son Gokū is resealed within the Demonic Statue. When Naruto deflects the jinchūriki’s blows, they release a Tailed Beast Bomb together with him, only for Naruto to switch into his Tailed Beast Mode and repel them directly.

Fū was caught by the Nine-Tails mid-flight and flung tumbling to the earth during the ensuing mayhem, narrowly missing Isobu. As a result, the competing creatures reassemble and charge a joint Tailed Beast Bomb, firing it in the direction of their opponents, only for it to be blocked by the Nine-Tails’ Beast Bomb.

In the ensuing blast, when Naruto attempted to take away the chakra receivers implanted on the tailed beasts, he entered the collective consciousness of the tailed beasts, where he met Fū as well as the other jinchūriki and their individual creatures. She cheerfully related Son Gokū and Rōshi’s last moments during this encounter before introducing herself to Naruto and her beast, Chōmei.

When the Reanimation Jutsu was released, Fū along with the others were engulfed in a kind of light before their bodies began to disintegrate and her soul went back to the hereafter. Fū later appears in Killer B’s dream inside the Infinite Tsukuyomi where she is seen together with other Jinchūriki, working together as a team.

Fū’s Personality

Fū had a happy-go-lucky and carefree demeanor when she was seen with other jinchūriki and tailed beasts, grinning as she remembered Son Gokū and Rōshi’s last moments before being sealed. She has a somewhat tomboyish attitude and she ends her statements with the more widely used boy’s word, “ssu”.

Fū is proven to be a bit of a troublemaker, as seen by the fact that when Shibuki called for her, she assumed she would be in trouble for whatever she had done. She also seems to get bored easily and is also compared to Naruto Uzumaki since she has a big mouth and acts rashly.

Fū is also depicted as being incredibly amiable and ready to make friends, in contrast to other jinchūriki. SHe wanted to play games with the others even though she was at the Chūnin Exams where everyone was supposed to compete against one another. This motivation is partially motivated by listening to Shibuki’s lectures and wishing to support the cause of world peace. Fū also demonstrates her fearlessness by jumping into a sandstorm at night to battle an unknown threat and found it to be exciting.

Fū’s Appearance

Fū was a small, tan-skinned kunoichi who sported an orange hair clip in her short, layered mint green hair to match her orange eyes. She wore a short, sleeveless white shirt with fishnet armor underneath, long armlets, fishnet shorts, and a short white apron skirt as her ninja outfit. She wore her forehead protector on her right arm. Fū also wore a cylindrical device wrapped in crimson on her back; its function is uncertain.

Fū’s eyes resemble Tobi’s Sharingan and Rinnegan after joining his Six Paths of Pain with the exception of her right eye, which has the typical block sclerae found in other reborn shinobi that Kabuto summoned.

Fū’s Abilities

Fū grew into a very talented shinobi with a high level of combat capability under Shibuki’s guidance as she easily defeated a massive scorpion. She and her crew also easily outran the competition to reach Suna first during the race. She excels in ambushing targets by surprise. After her reincarnation, she was able to employ her attacks more precisely and in unison by combining the perceptual and predictive powers of the Rinnegan and Sharingan with the shared field of vision power of Tobi’s Six Paths of Pain. She was also better able to respond to enemy strikes both on her own and in conjunction with other jinchūriki.

Ninjutsu

Fū was able to exhale a sparkling substance that glows bright enough to blind her opponents, giving herself or her comrades a chance to attack. She has the ability to communicate with her teammates over great distance using a transmission technology that emits a sound resembling howling wind.

She can employ webs to build a Net-Shaped Prison to trap and carry opponents, as well as heal her friends without physical contact or movement. She can also create a cocoon that can impede or stop chakra absorption techniques.

Tailed Beast Transformation

Fū receives a huge amount of chakra and stamina from the beast as Chōmei’s jinchūriki. Her chakra signature resembles a bug-style ninjutsu as stated by Shino Aburame. Although the degree of her control is unknown, she was able to partially morph so that she could use the tails of her beats as wings to fly on her lower back. While in flight, she has shown herself to be incredibly agile, outmaneuvering several of Killer B’s strikes. As soon as she switches into Version 2 mode, she can also use a strong bite to assault her foe.
