This bird was one of Nagato’s summons. It first appeared during Pain’s fight against Jiraiya, and later was seen during Pain’s Invasion of Konoha.

First Appearance in Anime | Naruto Shippūden Episode 131 |

This bird was momentarily summoned during Pain’s battle with Jiraiya, to combat Gamaken. It struck an airborne Gamaken with its beak as it flew over to him, but Gamaken deflected the blow with his shield. When Jiraiya used one of his Fire Release techniques to hit it after that, it was desummoned.
It reappears again during Pain’s Assault in Konoha to attack Naruto after the latter used his refined Rasenshuriken.
The reanimated Nagato then summoned the bird, together with the Giant Multi-Headed Dog, to give him a means of movement. Nagato and Itachi quickly leave the top of the bird’s head. Itachi later used Amaterasu to render Nagato and the enormous bird unconscious after he had been freed from Kabuto’s control.
The bird itself is distinctive because in addition to having a noticeable and jagged yellow beak, it also has three separate legs and wings. It also has two enormous chakra receivers sticking out from its body: one through the left side of its neck and the other through the right side of its back.
This summon can move at a breakneck speed, and it can combine that speed with its beak to create potent diving attacks in which it slams its beak into its enemy. The bird in the anime also had the ability to deposit a lot of eggs that would later explode like bombs and leave a trail of lightning-strewn dust clouds behind it as it flew low over Konoha. It can fly quite smoothly and is very nimble.
The Giant Drill-Beaked Bird was one of Nagato’s summonings in Naruto.
Pain first summoned Giant Drill-Beaked Bird during his battle with Jiraiya.
