Headman’s Granddaughter was kidnapped by the Baji’s bandit group and in return they wanted money and food. The Village Headman hired shinobi from Konoha and they sent Team 7 and Team 10 to fulfill the request of The Village Headman. Team 7 had Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno led by Kakashi Hatake. Team 10 had Shikamaru Nara, Choji Akimichi and Ino Yamanaka led by Asuma Sarutobi.

When they reached to the Village Headman's home, they discovered that a bandit group, led by Baji, had previously stolen their money and grains during harvest time, and this time, they had also kidnapped the Village Headman's granddaughter. He discussed Tofu with the Konoha shinobi, explaining how he might provide them with knowledge regarding Baji and his crew.

Later, it was decided that the genin would wait at the entry gate while Jonin Kakashi and Asuma went to find a new entry in the hideout where Baji kept Headman’s Granddaughter in his hideout. Shikamaru placed a wireless mic in Tofu’s clothes because they were suspicious about Tofu and they found out that he was working as their spy.

Shikamaru used himself as bait and reached the hideout where Headman’s Granddaughter was. Team 7 and Team 10 defeated the bandit group and Shikamaru, Choji and Ino were able to rescue Headman’s Granddaughter.
