Hinoko in Naruto

Kakashi assigned Hinoko and Ro to go as backup for Shikamaru who was infiltrating the Land of Silence. The group departed at dawn from the hidden back entrance of Konoha. During the mission, Hinoko tells Shikamaru that she doesn't like to be called by her real name and she lashes out at him. After they arrive at the Curtain Village, they assess the situation but Hinoka and the rest of the squad as captured by Gengo and tortured.

When she and the rest of the team are almost placed under the genjutsu of Gengo, Temari and the other Suna and Konoha ninjas arrive as back up and break the genjutsu. Hinoko fights off the brainwashed ninjas even though she was injured badly.

After Shikamaru defeats Gengo, Hinoko uses her Chakra Needle to paralyze Gengo's tongue so that he can't speak again and use genjutsu. With the mission accomplished, Hinoko prepares to escort Shikamaru back to the village with the rest of the people. Before leaving, her tough exterior can be seen breaking down when she's seen teasing Shikamaru after he asks Temari out on a date.

Hinoko is a total tomboy and she tends to lash out on people who don't use her codename and uses her real name instead. She is obsessed with cool things and hates anything which sounds very girly. She tends to also fangirl over romantic situations and those are like her weaknesses. She tends to worry that she wouldn't be able to prove herself in times of peace as she wasn't allowed to join the Fourth Great Shinobi War because she was too young.

Hinoko is short in height with light long brown hair with blue eyes. While she is on duty she wears her Anbu cat-motif mask with 3 whisker markings on each side of her face and additional three lines at the top. She wears the standard Konoha uniform with the flak jacket.

Hinoka was a very skilled shinobi which can be seen as she was personally scouted by the Anbu while she was still in the academy. She is quite skilled in kenjutsu and carries a tattoo, not only that she is capable of firing chakra needles from her fingertips. These needles paralyze, kill or energize the target.
