Very little is known about her as Ikanago’s past is still shrouded in mystery. Due to her limited appearances in the series, little is known about her lineage or background other than the fact that she is a jonin from the Hidden Sand Village and a member of the Hidden Sand Council. Additionally, Ikanago is a novel-exclusive character and does not appear or receive any mentions in the Naruto manga or anime.
Ikanago first appeared in the Gaara Hiden: A Sandstorm Mirage novel. She was first seen with the other members of the council during a meeting with Gaara, the Fifth Kazekage. She, along with other members of the council, tried to persuade Gaara into accepting an arranged marriage. She wanted Gaara to marry and continue his prominent bloodline for the betterment of Sunagakure.
