Katasuke Tōno’s Background

After the Fourth Great Shinobi War, Katasuke Tōno took on significant responsibility in aiding the survivors who had suffered debilitating injuries. He assumed a leadership role in an initiative aimed at helping all war casualties recover and reclaim their lives. As part of this endeavor, Katasuke frequently sought Naruto Uzumaki's approval, the Seventh Hokage, for various new projects he proposed.

Through these interactions, he became well-acquainted with the Hokage family and developed a close bond with them. Katasuke's expertise and dedication led him to develop an advanced form of prosthetics, pioneering a groundbreaking technology that allowed people with severe injuries to regain their mobility and functionality.

Among his notable patients was Ao, a former shinobi who had suffered grave injuries during the war. Through Katasuke's prosthetic advancements, Ao was able to regain his independence and adapt to his new circumstances.

During his work, Katasuke also learned of Chamaru's injury, one of the ninken (ninja dogs) belonging to the Inuzuka clan. Recognizing the importance of these loyal companions, he contacted Akita Inuzuka and informed her of his ability to provide Chamaru with a prosthetic limb.

With Katasuke's intervention, Chamaru made a full recovery, showcasing the effectiveness of his advanced prosthetics. Akita, impressed by his work, joined Katasuke as his assistant, likely driven by her admiration for his dedication and skill. Boruto, Naruto's spirited son, found solace in visiting Katasuke's laboratory whenever he was feeling upset or troubled.

In those moments, Boruto sought comfort in the impressive array of new ninja tools and inventions that Katasuke was working on. Understanding Boruto's need for distraction and inspiration, Katasuke made it a habit to have special edition games available for Boruto to play, creating an environment that would brighten the young ninja's mood.

Byakuya Gang Arc

During the investigation into the theft of jewels from a highly advanced vault by the infamous Byakuya Gang, Sarada Uchiha, a skilled shinobi, deduced that the involvement of an Ice Release technique was apparent. Recognizing the need for specialized assistance, Boruto Uzumaki, accompanied by his newly formed Team 7, sought the expertise of Katasuke Tōno.

Katasuke, renowned for his technological prowess and knowledge, became a valuable asset to the team. Together, they embarked on a mission to uncover the truth behind the heist. With Katasuke's guidance, they ventured into a shadowy black market within the village, a notorious hub for illicit activities and clandestine dealings.

Within the black market's grim and unpredictable environment, the team hoped to gather crucial information about the Byakuya Gang's plans. As they delved deeper into the underbelly of the market, they encountered various unsavory characters engaging in questionable trades and exchanges.

Driven by their determination to apprehend the criminals and recover the stolen jewels, Boruto, Sarada, and their teammates proceeded cautiously through the black market's labyrinthine alleys. Amidst the chaos and murky atmosphere, they managed to gather intelligence regarding an upcoming trade involving the Byakuya Gang.

While the team focused on their mission, Katasuke's excitement grew as he explored the black market's offerings. The diverse array of unique and potentially valuable equipment intrigued him, showcasing his passion for technological advancements and innovation. As the team prepared to leave the market to confront the Byakuya Gang, Katasuke eagerly inspected the possibilities of acquiring new tools that could aid him in his work.

In a dramatic turn of events, Katasuke Tōno found himself targeted by the cunning Byakuya Gang, who orchestrated a riot as a diversion to carry out their plan. Amidst the chaos, they managed to steal a special storage unit containing Katasuke's prized possession—his meticulously crafted collection of intel on ninjutsu, which he considered his greatest achievement.

In the midst of the attack, Katasuke valiantly fought back but was eventually overwhelmed, losing consciousness. However, in a last-ditch effort, he secretly attached a homing beacon to Gekkō, one of the gang members. It was a desperate attempt to aid his young ally, Boruto Uzumaki, in tracking down the thieves and retrieving his stolen work.

Fate intervened, and Boruto stumbled upon the injured Katasuke. In their encounter, Katasuke entrusted the genin with the tracking system necessary to locate the Byakuya Gang. Despite his injuries, Katasuke's determination shone through as he placed his faith in Boruto's abilities.

Driven by a shared resolve to bring the criminals to justice, Boruto and his allies embarked on a perilous pursuit. Using the tracking system provided by Katasuke, they followed the signal, slowly closing in on the elusive gang.

After an arduous journey fraught with danger, the Byakuya Gang was finally apprehended, and Katasuke's stolen goods were recovered. As the storage unit was opened, a sense of elation washed over Katasuke as he beheld not only his precious intel but also the prototype Kote—a revolutionary device he had developed.

Versus Momoshiki Arc

Boruto continued to seek solace and guidance from Katasuke, finding comfort in their regular interactions. Katasuke, in turn, provided him with unwavering support, offering kind words of encouragement and acknowledging Boruto's growth. Meanwhile, Katasuke diligently worked on perfecting his innovative creation, the Kote, a remarkable scientific ninja tool.

Eager to showcase the potential of his invention, Katasuke personally demonstrated the capabilities of the Kote to the Hokage, hoping to secure approval for its use in the upcoming Chūnin Exams. However, his request was met with disappointment as the Hokage denied permission, citing concerns about the balance and fairness of the exams.

Undeterred, Katasuke retreated to his laboratory, determined to explore alternative options. Little did he know that his vulnerability would soon be exploited. Ao, under the influence of the clandestine organization Kara, subjected Katasuke to a powerful genjutsu, leading to his corruption. Later, Koji Kashin, a member of Kara, ambushed a scientist to extract information about the individual responsible for the genjutsu.

These experiences tainted Katasuke's moral compass and caused him to manipulate his friendship with Boruto. Against the Hokage's wishes, he conducted illicit field tests of his new device, the Kote, during the Chūnin Exams. Assisted by his agents, Katasuke closely monitored the unfolding events with a mix of anticipation and delight.

To his satisfaction, news reached Katasuke that Boruto had utilized the Kote to great effect, garnering victories in the exams. Fueled by his belief in the Kote's transformative potential, Katasuke personally congratulated Boruto, expressing their shared mission to change the world. As a gesture of support, he provided Boruto with a special capsule containing Lightning Release: Purple Electricity—a powerful technique.

In a desperate battle against Shinki, Boruto unleashed the Lightning Release: Purple Electricity from the Kote, ultimately securing victory. However, Naruto, with his astute perception, soon realized the true nature of the technique and its illicit usage. Consequently, he disqualified Boruto from the exams and unequivocally denounced the device.

In a fit of frustration, Katasuke stormed into the arena, publicly defending the device and mocking Boruto's disqualification. His passionate outburst, however, was abruptly halted by the sudden appearance of Momoshiki and Kinshiki Ōtsutsuki in the sky above the arena, launching an assault on the village.

In the aftermath of the devastating attack, Katasuke, accompanied by his faithful assistant, covertly trailed the rescue team dispatched to retrieve the captured Naruto from the clutches of the Ōtsutsuki. Witnessing the team's valiant victory over Momoshiki, Katasuke, driven by a misguided ambition, attempted to employ the Kote to deal a final blow to the formidable foe. Unfortunately, his actions inadvertently rejuvenated Momoshiki, allowing him to absorb and nullify the attacks unleashed by Katasuke.

Within moments, Katasuke found himself incapacitated, though fortunate enough to survive the encounter. Following Boruto's decisive defeat of Momoshiki, Naruto, recognizing Katasuke's grave transgressions, took him into custody for his reckless actions.

Mujina Bandits Arc

Following the intense battle and subsequent events, Katasuke found himself subjected to an interrogation by Ibiki Morino, a highly skilled interrogator. Ino Yamanaka utilized her mind-altering jutsu repeatedly to delve into Katasuke's subconscious, uncovering the insidious influence of Kara over his mind. The control that Kara had exerted over him was exposed and shattered, liberating Katasuke from their manipulative grasp.

Upon regaining his freedom, Katasuke was overwhelmed by shock and remorse for his actions under Kara's control. Recognizing the potential for his redemption, Shikamaru Nara, a trusted advisor, assured Katasuke that once he recovered from the ordeal, his position in the Scientific Ninja Weapons Team would be reinstated.

Ao Arc

Recognizing the imminent threat looming over the village, Naruto tasked Katasuke with the development of a new ninja tool inspired by the power of Momoshiki's Rinnegan. This tool was designed to absorb enemy ninjutsu, similar to the abilities displayed by the Ōtsutsuki. However, the prototype was still in its early stages and lacked the capability to replicate the absorbed techniques, unlike Momoshiki's Rinnegan.

After successfully conducting initial tests to validate the tool's absorption capabilities, Katasuke was assigned to return to Ryūtan City to further refine and advance its development. To ensure his safe passage, he was accompanied by Team Konohamaru as his escort. Despite Boruto's initial opposition to the idea, the team embarked on the mission.

During their journey, they encountered Ao, a retired shinobi from Kirigakure. Katasuke utilized his expertise to make necessary adjustments to Ao's prosthetics. Through their interactions with Ao, who had firsthand experience with war and advanced technology, Boruto began to grasp an important lesson. He realized that the morality of tools is not inherent but rather dependent on how they are used.

It's the intentions and actions of individuals that determine whether tools are used for good or evil purposes. Upon reaching the laboratory, Katasuke enlisted the help of his escorts to conduct tests on some new tools. However, their focus was abruptly shifted when they received news of Konohamaru's disappearance.

Assigned with the task of finding him, Boruto's team began their search from the last known location of the jōnin. Katasuke made the decision to accompany the genin and Chamaru, equipped with his latest prototype battle armor. Arriving at the crash site of a blimp, they discovered several scattered puppets strewn about.

Intrigued, Katasuke started investigating the interior of the blimp and was taken aback by the sight of a black container that he recognized. However, before he could delve deeper into his thoughts, the puppets suddenly activated, revealing themselves to be advanced robotic tech designed to resist ninjutsu.

Quick to respond, Katasuke utilized his suit's capabilities to counter the threat. He cleverly engaged the puppets, absorbing their attacks in a continuous pattern until they overheated and shut down. Realizing the grim truth, Katasuke sadly concluded that these puppets were constructed using his stolen tech designs. The discovery weighed heavily on him.

Guided by Chamaru's keen sense of smell, the group followed his lead and eventually located Konohamaru and Mugino in a nearby cave. However, their reunion was interrupted by the unexpected appearance of Ao. Holding them at gunpoint with a menacing gatling gun, Ao demanded answers regarding their findings about the black container.

As Ao unleashed a relentless onslaught of Fire Release Bullets from his weapon, the situation grew dire. Konohamaru, aided by Katasuke, managed to destroy Ao's gun, buying them a momentary respite. Inquisitive about the possible connection to the organization Kara, Konohamaru questioned Ao, only to be met with a shocking revelation.

With a hidden weapon concealed within his prosthetic shoulder, Ao ruthlessly blasted Konohamaru, incapacitating him. In a swift motion, he turned his attention to Katasuke, attacking him and seizing one of his technique-absorbing gauntlets. Ao wasted no time in testing the gauntlet's capabilities, absorbing the force of Boruto's Rasengan. Realizing the threat they posed to Kara's secrecy, Ao resolved that they must die.

In a desperate act of bravery, Mugino held Ao down, providing a brief window of opportunity for the team to escape. However, Ao's resilience proved formidable as he clawed his way out from under the rubble, rendering Mugino's sacrifice in vain. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, Boruto and his team hastily retreated to find shelter.

In the midst of their respite, Katasuke, burdened by guilt, confessed his shame over unwittingly aiding the enemies' access to advanced ninja tech. He revealed that Kara had manipulated and coerced him into relinquishing his research. Determined to make amends, Katasuke offered to act as a diversion, willing to sacrifice himself to protect his allies and the data they had obtained from the blimp.

Konohamaru insisted that the retrieved data must be returned to Konohagakure, recognizing its value and potential danger in the wrong hands. Sympathetic to Katasuke's remorse, Boruto reminded him that tools themselves are not inherently good or evil—it is the manner in which they are utilized that determines their impact. Boruto pointed out how Katasuke's technology had positively impacted Chamaru's life, allowing the dog to walk again.

Inspired by Boruto's words, Katasuke found renewed determination to stop Ao and prevent further abuse of the technology he had unwittingly supplied to Kara. United in their resolve, Boruto and Katasuke vowed to confront Ao and bring an end to his dangerous exploits before it was too late.

As Katasuke delved into an explanation of the chakra-absorbing capabilities of the gauntlet, a strategic plan took shape. The team devised a plan to exploit Ao's reliance on the ninja tech against him. To aid in their mission, Boruto was entrusted with a chakra sword, although he was warned about its flaw—a rapid depletion of chakra reserves upon activation due to its prototype state.

With anticipation, Katasuke observed as Team Konohamaru skillfully outmaneuvered Ao, leveraging the weakness of the chakra sword to their advantage. They successfully tricked Ao into using the weapon himself, rendering him vulnerable and defenseless. Surrounding their seemingly defeated adversary, the team prepared for their next move.

However, the situation took an unexpected turn as Konohamaru valiantly shielded Boruto from a barrage of Mirror Drones, causing him to lose consciousness. Recognizing the nature of the drones, Katasuke deduced that they were powered through a wireless connection to Ao's chakra.

With quick thinking and coordination, Boruto utilized his gauntlet to fend off the relentless drone attacks, buying enough time for Sarada and Mitsuki to evacuate Konohamaru and Katasuke to safety. Determined to protect their comrades, the team pushed forward, relying on their ingenuity and teamwork.

In a moment of triumph, Boruto's shadow clone strategy once again outwitted Ao, creating an opening for a decisive strike. Seizing the opportunity, Boruto dealt a final blow to their foe, seemingly defeating him. However, their respite was short-lived, as a mysterious man materialized on the scene, swiftly dispatching Ao with his Boiler Toad.

With an air of calm, the enigmatic man introduced himself as Koji Kashin, further deepening the intrigue surrounding the situation. With a calm demeanor, Konohamaru revealed his knowledge about Koji's mysterious organization, prompting Koji to swiftly make a decision to eliminate the Konoha-nin. Konohamaru fearlessly confronted the enigmatic adversary, unleashing his Rasengan in an attempt to deliver a finishing blow.

However, Koji skillfully countered the technique with his own masterful employment of the Rasengan. Engaged in a seemingly equal battle, the tension escalated. But unbeknownst to Konohamaru, Koji had surreptitiously planted a small toad on him. In a devastating turn of events, the hidden toad detonated, enveloping Konohamaru in powerful flames.

The situation grew dire as Konohamaru found himself in a perilous predicament. Driven by desperation and determination to save his sensei, Boruto instinctively activated the seal on his hand. As the seal spread up Boruto's arm, it absorbed the searing flames, miraculously shielding Konohamaru from harm. The astonishing display of power left Katasuke astounded, witnessing the incredible potential within Boruto.

Impressed by the unexpected turn of events, Koji decided to temporarily retreat, choosing to part ways with the group. As the team began their journey back to Konoha, they stumbled upon a scene of destruction, littered with remnants of destroyed puppets. Amidst the debris, they discovered an unconscious boy named Kawaki.

Moved by their instincts to help those in need, they carefully examined Kawaki for injuries, only to make a startling revelation. The boy bore a striking similarity to Boruto, sporting a matching seal on his left palm. The

Kawaki Arc

As the pain intensified in both Boruto and Kawaki due to their activated marks, it jolted Kawaki awake, causing him to unleash a destructive outburst, wreaking havoc in his immediate surroundings. Puzzled by the sudden confrontation, Konohamaru identified himself and sought information about the crash that had brought them together.

However, Kawaki, desiring solitude and mistrusting their intentions, regarded the team as pursuers from Kara. In an attempt to establish a connection, Boruto revealed his own mark, hoping to convey that they were not enemies. However, this revelation only further solidified Kawaki's belief that they were affiliated with Kara.

Despite their efforts to correct the misunderstanding, the arrival of Garō disrupted their conversation. Garō declared his intent to retrieve Kawaki, prompting the young boy to resist fiercely, showcasing his unique ability to transform his body into formidable weapons.

Garō skillfully evaded Kawaki's relentless assault, wearing down the boy's energy until he could no longer fight back. Seizing the opportunity, Garō launched a punishing attack, overpowering Kawaki and rendering him helpless. In the midst of this confrontation, Boruto experienced excruciating agony as his Kāma mark reacted once again. Simultaneously, Kawaki's own mark activated, infusing him with renewed strength, which he unleashed in a devastating blast that annihilated Garō.

Shielding everyone from the blast through the absorption power of his mark, Boruto demonstrated his newfound abilities. Meanwhile, Kawaki, now convinced that the Konoha team was associated with Kara, turned his attention toward them, prepared for further conflict. However, before any further confrontation could occur, the intense exertion took its toll on Kawaki, causing him to collapse, and his mark deactivated.

Taking a brief examination of the boy, Katasuke marveled at the extraordinary advancement in scientific ninja tools evident within Kawaki's transformed physiology, including his blood vessels and nervous system. Recognizing the significance of this discovery, it was decided that bringing Kawaki back to meet the Seventh Hokage, Naruto, was necessary to further understand and assess the situation.

In the anime adaptation, following Konohamaru's report to the Hokage, Katasuke and Team 7 accompanied Kawaki to the research institute for his safety and containment. However, to their surprise, Kawaki managed to escape, throwing the institute into a state of emergency. The team swiftly tracked him down and brought him back to the village.

Back at the research institute, Katasuke conducted a comprehensive analysis of Kawaki's extraordinary body. Through his research, he discovered that Kawaki's cellular structure had been augmented, enabling him to undergo rapid tissue changes. Intrigued by this groundbreaking revelation, Katasuke compiled his findings and presented them at the Kage Summit.

During the summit, the Kage deliberated on the best course of action regarding Kawaki. Drawing from their own experiences with children being weaponized, such as the jinchūriki, they empathized with the boy's situation. It was unanimously decided that Kawaki should be treated with compassion and understanding.

Furthermore, to ensure his safety and well-being, it was agreed that he would reside with Naruto, the Seventh Hokage, who would serve as his guardian and protector. After Kawaki's right arm was severely damaged by Delta, he was immediately taken to Katasuke for emergency repairs.

However, Katasuke soon realized that the advanced technology within Kawaki's body surpassed his own expertise, making it difficult for him to handle the repairs effectively. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, Naruto, the resourceful Hokage, sought an alternative solution.

Naruto made the decision to provide Kawaki with one of his own prosthetic arms, knowing that it could be modified to accommodate Kawaki's unique physiology. Displaying his remarkable chakra control, Naruto infused his own chakra into the prosthetic arm, allowing it to function seamlessly with Kawaki's body. This innovative approach impressed Katasuke, who marveled at the Hokage's ingenuity and adaptability.

Meanwhile, the village of Konohagakure remained on high alert following the attack by Jigen, the leader of Kara. In the aftermath of a daring rescue mission led by Team 7, including the successful retrieval of the Hokage, the wounded were taken to the hospital for immediate treatment. Among the patients was Kawaki, who held great significance to Kara and was a top priority for the village's protection.

Within the hospital, Katasuke and Sumire conducted thorough tests on Kawaki, aiming to better understand his condition and find ways to alleviate his pain and discomfort. Through their examinations, they discovered an incompatibility issue between Kawaki's prosthetic hand and his extensively modified physiology. This mismatch caused him significant discomfort and distress. Katasuke couldn't help but feel remorseful for not having a deeper understanding of the technology required to assist Kawaki effectively.

During Amado's interrogation and subsequent defection to Konoha, Katasuke observed the proceedings with great interest. The possibility of witnessing his own work within the laboratory fascinated him, and he eagerly absorbed the information Amado shared about the Ōtsutsuki clan. Learning about their ability to cheat death by utilizing the Kāma to rewrite individuals into flawless replicas of themselves left Katasuke awestruck.

As part of Amado's agreement for asylum with Konoha, he was granted access to the village's research facilities under Katasuke's supervision. In return, Amado shared all of his knowledge and research findings with the scientist. Amidst their discussions, Amado highlighted the imminent threat of Isshiki targeting Kawaki to reapply the Kāma, instilling a deep sense of terror within Katasuke regarding the potential consequences for the village.

Meanwhile, as Naruto and Sasuke ventured out to confront the sudden arrival of Isshiki, Katasuke joined the rest of the group in a specially fortified bunker equipped with powerful seals to ensure their temporary protection. Within the confines of the bunker, they anxiously awaited updates on the battle unfolding outside.

When they received word that Boruto was engaged in combat against Isshiki alongside Naruto and Sasuke, Katasuke couldn't help but worry about the safety and well-being of the young shinobi. During this tense moment, Amado noted that while Boruto may not possess the direct power to overpower Isshiki, his true value in the conflict lay in a different capacity.

Amado divulged crucial information to the group, explaining the significance of Boruto as a Kāma wielder in Isshiki's grand scheme. He revealed that the God Tree could only reach its full maturity by sacrificing an Ōtsutsuki, and by keeping Boruto alive and allowing him to fully transform into an Ōtsutsuki, Isshiki intended to use him as the sacrificial vessel instead of himself.

Katasuke was appalled by this revelation, but he recognized the importance of playing their roles to the best of their abilities given the circumstances. As Amado expressed his interest in Kawaki's prosthetic arm, Katasuke informed him that it was powered by Naruto's own chakra.

Suddenly, a rift materialized and whisked Kawaki away, surprising Katasuke and the others, and leaving them in a state of shock and uncertainty. In the anime, Katasuke collaborated with Sakura to conduct tests to assess the consequences of Kurama's death on Naruto.

Driven by his determination to develop even more advanced shinobi tools for the Hokage, Katasuke spared no effort in his research. During the tests, he confirmed that both Boruto and Kawaki's bodies had indeed undergone significant Ōtsutsuki transformations.

When reporters began pestering Boruto with questions about the fight against Isshiki, Katasuke felt insulted that they assumed Boruto had merely gotten in the way. In an impulsive move, he revealed that Boruto had played a crucial role in Isshiki's defeat, redirecting the media's attention to the young shinobi.

Furthermore, through his ongoing examinations, Katasuke discovered that Boruto's Kāma was progressing at an accelerated rate and estimated that its full transformation would occur within a timeframe ranging from two weeks to six months. He promptly informed Naruto about this concerning development.

Chūnin Re-Examination Arc

In the anime, after the defeat of Isshiki, Naruto decided to revive the Chūnin Exams as a way to promote growth and development among the young shinobi of Konoha. During the exams, Denki Kaminarimon and Iwabee Yuino advanced to the finals. Recognizing Denki's scientific aptitude, they were granted access to Katasuke's testing room for their final match.

Katasuke eagerly offered his assistance to Denki, hoping to support him in his scientific

endeavors for the exams. However, to his disappointment, he discovered that Denki could only utilize the scientific tools that he had developed on his own.

Despite this setback, Katasuke remained enthusiastic about witnessing Denki's ingenuity in action. He was amazed when Denki's creation proved to be highly effective, defeating Metal Lee with ease during their sparring session.

Katasuke made sure to make time to observe Denki's match against Tsubaki. He provided Team 7 with an explanation of the unique features of Denki's power suit, showcasing his expertise and contributing to the overall understanding of Denki's abilities. Denki's victory served as an inspiration for Katasuke, motivating him to further develop innovative tools and technologies.

Great Sea Battle of Kirigakure Arc

In the anime, Katasuke's team undertook the development of advanced automated puppets for gold mining purposes on Dotō Island in the Land of Water. Team 5 was assigned the task of delivering these puppets, while Katasuke himself was instructed to continue working on the puppets on-site after attending a ceremony in Kirigakure, where the unveiling of their new advanced power plants was being celebrated. Katasuke was accompanied by Team 7, which now included Kawaki as a newly minted genin.

Despite the time constraints, Katasuke found himself frequently distracted by the array of new technologies available for sale in Kirigakure. His fascination with these innovations slowed down his progress on the puppets. However, he managed to make it to the ceremony, where an unforeseen terrorist attack occurred, resulting in a blimp crash and explosion.

Katasuke was rendered unconscious but sustained only minor injuries. He received medical treatment from the skilled medical-nin of Kirigakure. The Land of Water found itself embroiled in a fierce civil war involving the Funato clan. Boruto played a pivotal role in ending the conflict by displaying his willingness to self-sacrifice in order to break the cycle of hatred and revenge.

Upon their return to Konoha, Katasuke commended Boruto for his courageous actions, recognizing how they had significantly enhanced the village's reputation and standing.

Code's Assault Arc

Later, as the group deliberated on their next steps, Katasuke anxiously sought suggestions from Amado regarding their former boss, Jigen. Just as they were discussing their options, news arrived that Naruto and the others had returned safely and successfully defeated Isshiki. Relieved by this update, Katasuke and Sumire worked alongside Amado to restore Kawaki's missing arm by cultivating Kawaki's own cells. Katasuke marveled at Amado's remarkable efficiency in carrying out the procedure with such speed.

Following a confrontation with Code outside the walls of Konoha, Katasuke attentively listened to Boruto as he recounted his experience of being resurrected through the power of Momoshiki's Kāma after being killed by Kawaki. Katasuke found solace in the knowledge that this meant Momoshiki could no longer resurface through Boruto, especially when Boruto confidently expressed that he felt different after the resurrection and believed he had better control over accessing Momoshiki's powers.

However, Katasuke cautiously brought up Amado's drugs as a possible contingency in case Momoshiki's consciousness posed a threat again, though Boruto dismissed the concern, expressing a newfound sense of mastery over the situation.

When Ada and Daemon made the decision to defect from Kara and join forces with Konoha, Katasuke participated in a crucial meeting where Amado provided intricate details about the shinjutsu abilities and their origins. Shikamaru sought Katasuke's expertise to evaluate the technical feasibility of Amado's claims regarding the transplantation of such abilities. Katasuke acknowledged the possibility, considering the advanced technology available to Kara that surpassed any known human technology.

Later on, as Ada expressed her desire to have a private conversation with Sarada and Sumire, specifically as fellow women, Delta insisted on accompanying them. However, Katasuke assured Delta that he would keep her under better control, ensuring her compliance during their interaction.

Katasuke Tōno’s Personality

Katasuke is an eccentric and optimistic individual who possesses a remarkable intellect and boundless imagination. Within Konoha, he stands as one of the most brilliant minds in the field of science, consistently pushing the boundaries of innovation alongside the Scientific Ninja Tool team.

Despite his talent as a scientist, Katasuke remains humble, readily acknowledging his own limitations and displaying a genuine interest in collaborating with others. He eagerly embraces the opportunity to witness and learn from the scientific prowess of individuals like Amado Sanzu, constantly fueling his own inspiration to work harder.

Passionate about his craft, Katasuke is driven to test the limits of his creations, often finding himself in peculiar situations. For instance, he once embarked on the development of a device capable of rendering its user intangible, only to comically collide with a wall. Nonetheless, his spirits remain consistently high, maintaining a positive mental attitude throughout. His ultimate life goal revolves around modernizing ninjutsu to the extent that it becomes accessible and beneficial for everyone, enhancing everyday life.

Beyond his scientific pursuits, Katasuke indulges in his passion for gaming, finding solace and enjoyment in playing video games. He dedicates himself wholeheartedly to completing these games, often possessing special edition titles that he willingly lends to Boruto, whom he respectfully refers to as "Young Lord."

Katasuke underwent a significant personality shift following his encounter with a Kara agent, succumbing to the side effects of genjutsu exposure. This transformation rendered him incredibly self-centered, arrogant, and manipulative. Ignoring the explicit prohibition by the Hokage, he shamelessly exploited Boruto, using him as a testing ground for his forbidden invention during the Chūnin Exams. Even when his wrongdoing was brought to light, Katasuke exhibited no remorse, seizing the opportunity to showcase his genius to the gathered crowds.

However, when Momoshiki Ōtsutsuki made an unexpected appearance, Katasuke's vengeful and reckless nature surfaced. He recklessly pursued the special team assembled to confront the invader, driven by a desire for retaliation and seeking to eliminate Momoshiki on his own.

Following the mission, Katasuke broke free from Kara's control and reverted back to his true self. He displayed a newfound sense of responsibility, eager to assist his fellow Konoha-nin whenever the situation demanded it. Deeply ashamed of his reckless actions under the influence of genjutsu and the fact that his research had fallen into enemy hands, he felt a profound regret for forever creating his inventions. Driven by a sense of duty, he even considered sacrificing himself as a diversion to atone for his mistakes.

Haunted by the twisted use of his research as a weapon of destruction, Katasuke experienced a profound change of heart. He came to despise his creations, questioning their purpose altogether. However, Boruto offered him a perspective that rekindled his faith in his work. Boruto reminded Katasuke that a tool's moral value depends on how it is utilized, emphasizing that Katasuke had only employed his inventions for protection and healing. This reminder served to reaffirm Katasuke's belief in the potential positive impact of his research.
