Maroi is a fictional character that appeared in Naruto the Movie: Blood Prison, which was the fifth installation in Naruto movies and the third Naruto Shippuden movie.

Maroi is a character in the Naruto series that appeared in Naruto the Movie: Blood Prison. He is a shinobi of the Village Hidden in the Clouds and infiltrated the Hozuki Castle acting as a prisoner. He was tasked to find and retrieve the Box of Ultimate Bliss for the Hidden Cloud Village.

Very little is known about his childhood and Maroi’s past as his heritage is still shrouded in mystery. Due to his limited appearances in the series, close to nothing is known about his lineage or background other than the fact that he is a spy of the Hidden Cloud Village who was tasked to infiltrate the Hozuki Castle and to find and retrieve the Box of Ultimate Bliss for his village.
Maori played a significant role in the movies and as a spy for the Hidden Cloud, Maroi is dispatched to the Hozuki Castle. There, he is able to win the favor of Mui, the master of the Hozuki castle and the film's main antagonist, and frequently acts as his aide to carry out his commands to kidnap prisoners.
Naruto Uzumaki, the protagonist of the movie, was persuaded by Maroi to rebel against Mui and was imprisoned in solitary confinement where he had access to gather nature energy. Additionally, before the Box of Ultimate Bliss was discovered, he organized the last significant rebellion at the penitentiary.
He then signals his allies with a signal flare. In the end, it was revealed that Maroi was also a part of the cooperative effort with the Hidden Leaf Village to identify the person who was impersonating Naruto, who was later revealed to be Kazan, and make sure the box was never used again.

Due to his lack of appearance in the series and any related information, almost nothing is known about Maroi’s personality. From his status and limited appearance, it can be deduced that although Maroi occasionally gave the impression of being completely carefree, he is actually a calm, pleasant, and level-headed person.
Maroi is a reasonably tall, dark-skinned man with brown hair that he wore long in the back and short on top, ending in a ponytail. He also has a beard and gray eyes. He is dressed in a long-sleeved, high-collared, ragged-edged brown top with yellow trim on the shoulders and sleeves. He additionally sported a knee guard, a pair of green slacks, and sandals. In addition, he also had a mark on his chest as a result of the Fire Release: Heavenly Prison which was used on prisoners to keep them in control.
Maroi is a skilled jonin of the Hidden Cloud Village and is quite dependable. Although he didn’t seem like it most of the time, he possesses a keen intellect and is quite knowledgeable, a true master of his craft.
Maroi is capable of manipulating two chakra releases, Fire Release chakra, and Lightning Release chakra. In the movie, he could be seen using Water Release: Archerfish and Lightning Release: Lightning Signal Fire. Unfortunately, the extent of his jutsu arsenal is still shrouded in mystery.
