Momoshiki Otsutsuki in Naruto

Kinshiki Otsutsuki informed Momoshiki about what had happened to Kaguya Otsutsuki on earth when Momoshiki was eating chakra fruit which he harvested from a planet.

Momoshiki doubted whether she had betrayed the clan or had been overthrown and destroyed by the "lower lifeforms" occupying her globe after Kinshiki pointed out that she had broken their clan's rules by failing to report the abnormal space curvature. That idea attracted Momoshiki, who ordered Kinshiki to get ready to leave in the hopes that Kaguya's planet would be abundant in chakra fit for consumption.

Momoshiki encountered Sasuke Uchiha

Momoshiki and Kinshiki were searching for Kaguya's location at her former castle when they came across Sasuke, who was looking for information on a threat larger than Kaguya. While Momoshiki watched from a distance, he was attracted by the strength of Sasuke's Rinnegan as Kinshiki battled Sasuke while they were both caught in a blizzard.

After Sasuke makes his getaway, Momoshiki and Kinshiki continue their investigation in one of her dimensions until they ran into Urashiki Otsutsuki, who informs them of her former realm: the planet Earth and the fact that the chakra of its God Tree was distributed among humanity, including the Tailed Beasts.

After finding their way to the earth, Momoshiki and Kinshiki started their quest to collect the chakra. When they initially came across Killer B, Momoshiki could destroy him easily by deflecting his assault and using it against him. However, Killer B survives the strike because he drained Gyuki's chakra from within B which made him unconscious. After consuming all of their chakras, Momoshiki wanted to capture Naruto and take his all Nine-Tailed Chakra.

During the Chunin Exams, Momoshiki and Kinshiki came to Konoha and caused complete chaos. While Kinshiki largely demolished the stadium and attempted to attack Sasuke and his daughter, Momoshiki kicked Naruto out of the arena and stood by. A scared Boruto attempted to assault Momoshiki with his Kote but all of his blows were neutralized by Momoshiki's Rinnegan. According to what was revealed in Kaguya's scroll and what Sasuke explained to Naruto, they are a more serious threat than Kaguya.

Naruto asked Momoshiki what they wanted from them and why they were attacked. In reply, Momoshiki told Naruto they wanted all the chakra on earth which Kaguya gave to everyone on the planet. They wanted to take Naruto so they could pull the chakra out of the beast and use it for themselves because Kurama had such a strong chakra.

Sasuke and Naruto had to combine Kurama and Susanoo to defend themselves from Momoshiki and Kinshiki's attack on them and their kids. Momoshiki was impressed by their attempts the entire time, laughing out loud. He then used the powers he took from Boruto to build a massive black ball that he then fired at them to put an end to the fight.

Ultimately, Sasuke shielded Boruto and Sarada while Naruto allowed himself to be caught by Momoshiki and Kinshiki. Naruto was taken to another dimension by Momoshiki and Kinshiki while tied, where they started the ceremony of removing Kurama's chakra from him. Over a long amount of time, Sasuke, Boruto, and the other four Kage arrived to rescue Naruto after consuming half of Kurama's chakra.

While the other Kage fought against Kinshiki, who was easily destroyed, Momoshiki engaged in combat with Sasuke.

Momoshiki transformed Kinshiki into a chakra fruit and devoured him in an effort to end everyone once and for all. As a result, Kinshiki's strength surged, and his body underwent a significant transformation. In the film adaptation, he changes Kinshiki into various chakra pills, which he consumes throughout the conflict to gain strength and continue to change. Naruto and Sasuke were close to winning their battle against him until Momoshiki suddenly trapped Naruto in boulders and repeatedly set Sasuke on fire.

However, the combined efforts of the two left Momoshiki seriously weakened. Momoshiki absorbed Katasuke's assaults when he used his Kote to try to kill him permanently, giving him back his strength. With the exception of Naruto, he had the other Kage arrested using the Shadow Paralysis Technique and was about to kill him.

Sasuke had no choice but to order Boruto to use Rasengan to destroy the situation. Boruto released his father and the other Kage by striking Momoshiki with his little Rasengan. Momoshiki enhanced his strength and swallowed additional chakra pills in a fit of anger at Boruto for destroying his clothes.

Then, as Sasuke kept Momoshiki preoccupied long enough for Boruto to launch his attack on Momoshiki, Naruto gave his son Boruto a gift of chakra to help him form a Parent and Child Rasengan. Momoshiki was permanently destroyed when Boruto attacked him with his Rasengan after first attempting to kill him with a shadow clone to destroy his Rinnegan. This attack also featured a clash with Momoshiki's own Rasengan lookalike.

Momoshiki's ghost persisted for a while, seeing that Boruto could sense his presence thanks to his Byakugan blood. He went up to Boruto and told him that while he was unable to predict his own future, he could plainly see what would happen to Boruto.

When he defeated a god, Momoshiki warned him that one day his blue eyes would steal everything from him and that he was no longer a regular person. Before vanishing, he added that Boruto should keep on following his own path and placed a mark on his right palm.

Monoshiki takes control over Boruto's body

Later on, Jigen Otsutsuki (Isshiki Otsutsuki) captured Naruto and trapped him in another dimension, and told Boro to look after Naruto. The new Team 7 with Kawaki went to rescue Naruto. Then they encountered Boro, who had enormous Kama power and was able to defeat all of them.

Still, at the point when Boro was about to kill Boruto, suddenly, Momoshiki Otsutsuki's spirit controlled the body of Boruto and was able to kill Boro in an instant.

Boruto regained consciousness and was able to subdue Momoshiki's spirit and then took Naruto back to Konoha. Boruto discovered that Momoshiki had gained control of his body after Kara's senior researcher, Amado, defected to Konohagakure and revealed the organization's intentions, the workings of Kama, and his intention to betray and kill its commander, Isshiki Otsutsuki, and his vessel, Jigen.

Boruto admitted to Sasuke that the occurrence seemed like an out-of-body experience and that he feared losing control and destroying the town. Sasuke reassured Boruto that as his master, he would do whatever it took to stop Momoshiki from controlling him, even if it meant killing him, as he had decided that he would rather die than harm his friends.

Isshiki later defeated Boruto by breaking his arm and crushing his spine during the subsequent struggle. It was then he revealed that Boruto's Kama was almost complete and that, as Momoshiki's vessel, he would make a worthy sacrifice to turn Kara's Ten-Tails into a God Tree.

Naruto and Sasuke instantly intervened to save Boruto, but he soon passed out. However, the duo were being stretched to their limits as the struggle went on, and Isshiki was able to call Kawaki to their location so that she could give Sasuke the new Kama before he passed out. Then, Momoshiki appeared once more.

As Isshiki's corpse shattered into dust, Momoshiki decided to remain hidden while Kawaki utilized a shadow clone to prevent him from experiencing reincarnation through the Kama. Momoshiki launched a swift surprise assault, piercing Sasuke's left eye with Boruto's kunai and destroying his Rinnegan before anyone could respond, leaving Isshiki for dead and Naruto and Sasuke gravely hurt.

He then knelt in a fighting position and claimed that they were now the only barriers standing between him and Isshiki, adding that he had never believed they could defeat the latter. Momoshiki started confronting Sasuke and Kawaki after successfully neutralizing his space-time ninjutsu.

He observed that Kawaki's Kama extraction had advanced considerably, making him a suitable sacrifice for the growth of a God Tree, as he meant to do. Sasuke reasoned that if Boruto's chakra were restored, his personality would return to the surface because Momoshiki refrained from using any jutsu during the battle.

Sasuke was rendered unconscious by Momoshiki using Boruto's Vanishing Rasengan as he moved toward Kawaki. When Kawaki attempted to set himself on fire, Momoshiki was forced to put out the flames. This allowed Boruto to reassert his identity as he cut off Momoshiki's horn and regained control.

Code Assault

In the beginning, when Boruto battled Code, he was able to employ the Kama's ability without being possessed by Momoshiki. It was short-lived, though, as Momoshiki was able to manifest himself once more. He made the decision to kill Code and get his Ten-Tails. Momoshiki needed Kawaki as a sacrifice and attempted to use him as a hostage, but Code was able to split the two apart with his Spiraling Bullet.

Kawaki attempted to combat him but ultimately needed Naruto and Shikamaru to save him. Momoshiki made the decision to assist Code in killing Naruto because he was a problem for him and was holding Shikamaru hostage.

He used an Ultra-Big Ball Rasengan to hit Naruto and was shocked to see Kawaki absorb it with the Kama. He made fun of Kawaki for continuing to be utilized by others after deducing that it was Amado's doing. Intending to kill Isshiki, Kawaki put pressure on Momoshiki after swiftly becoming used to his jutsu.

To protect Boruto, Naruto helped but Kawaki strongly argued that Momoshiki was too dangerous. As Boruto's personality returned to life, he could restrain Momoshiki's actions long enough for Kawaki to strike him in the chest.

Momoshiki changed 18% of his Kama's data, which was still compressed with Boruto's data, to rescue his soul because he had no other vessel, and Boruto's Kama wasn't entirely designed to bring him back.

As a result, the Kama was able to revive Boruto's body at his own expense. Momoshiki appeared in a vision and described the circumstances to Boruto once he awoke. Although Momoshiki pointed out that he was now a complete Otsutsuki that Code might sacrifice for the Ten-Tails, Boruto thought that stopping Momoshiki's revival was a success. Later, when Boruto is asked to appear at Hokage's office as they have a mission, but just when Boruto is about to leave his house, Momoshiki appears again as a spirit and asks Boruto why he won't give up his body to him as he is useless.

Boruto argues with him that he will never let him control his body and would rather die than give up, but Momoshiki says he wouldn’t let him die because Boruto is his vessel and will take over him very soon.

Momoshiki Otsutsuki has the same arrogance and overconfidence in himself, just like other members of Otsutsuki, as they all think they are the best. He also sees humans as the lowlife who is just there to either bow in front of them or give up their life as a chakra source.

Momoshiki is calm and composed and always tries not to fight. When Sasuke was fighting Kinshiki, even then, Momoshiki did not try to fight him and was just observing Sasuke’s strength and got excited to see that even a lowlife human was able to fight one to one against Kinshiki.

Despite all this attitude and laziness, he still keeps the Otsutsuki clan’s goal as his top priority and always looks to complete the missions. He regrets that Naruto won't be able to pass on his powerful chakra to his son in the future but he accepts Kinshiki without hesitation, following his wish.

Momoshiki, like Isshiki, is adamant about getting a hold of a chakra fruit at all costs. He chose to use Kawaki as a sacrifice for the Ten-Tails to blossom into a God Tree, even though doing so would lower the fruit's quality. Momoshiki even went so far as to absorb chakra to stop Kawaki from killing himself, even at the cost of Boruto regaining control of his body.

Momoshiki doesn’t like to work hard, which makes him lack in hand-to-hand combat like taijutsu, and when he fought with Naruto in hand-to-hand combat, he was seen easily beaten down.

Despite having many opportunities to attack Boruto's friends or even Naruto, who killed him, when he is in control of Boruto, he chooses not to. When he is fighting Kawaki, he doesn't want to damage them unless they make an effort to stop him. Momoshiki will do anything to preserve the life of his ship.

He laughs at Boruto with the idea that the child will lose everything when he loses the capacity to resurrect as Boruto, appearing unfazed. He even stabbed Sasuke Rinnegan's eyes as it would have been difficult for him to fight when he fully gained control of Boruto's body. Momoshiki had also seen making Boruto feel worthless and weak when he recently talked to him just before Boruto was going to the Hokage office.

Momoshiki had light-purple hair pulled back in a long ponytail and a pale blue complexion. His head was ornamented with a pair of flat, curving horns that resembled bulls horns, and his hair was divided in a zigzag manner down the middle. He had a delicate face and very short eyebrows that were a sign of status.

He wore the typical clothes of a nobleman including a white kariginu hunting robe, loose-fitting leggings, a pair of tengu-geta, and a single black glove on his left hand with a hole drilled into the palm for his scarlet Rinnegan. He covered his head with a transparent hagoromo veil as well.

Momoshiki's appearance underwent a dramatic transformation after absorbing Kinshiki, including black sclerae, white irides, dark-red skin, a pointy chin, fangs, exposed claws on his hands and feet, white hair, a ponytail that grew larger and spikier, larger, sharpened bull horns, white markings under his eyes, and a significant increase in size.

He awakened a third Rinnegan on his forehead after the Rinnegan on his palms turned purple. Although he doesn't awaken the third eye in the novelization, he does take on the appearance of a black demon after consuming the last of the pills he made from Kinshiki.

Momoshiki's look after absorbing Kinshiki is drastically different from the manga and its anime adaptation. His horns greatly enlarge and curve back, he develops short claws on his fingers and toes, his canines extend and resemble fangs, and all of his dojutsu turned golden, including a third Rinnegan on his forehead. Additionally, his body becomes supple and covered in radiating black markings that resemble sunburst patterns.

Though he regarded the level of their human civilization as poor, he showed the ability to easily destroy a world and its whole people on at least one occasion. He could defeat a perfect jinchuriki and hold his own against numerous Kage-level opponents at once. He even defeated four Kage at once with incredible ease after absorbing Kinshiki, and competed almost equally with Sasuke and Naruto, who both used the Six Paths Chakra.

Physical Power

Momoshiki is not well known for his physical combat as taijutsu is his weakness, and that is the only weakness he had in him because of his laziness. Still, after he consumes Kinshiki as a pill, he is able to outperform other Kage's hand-to-hand combat. Targeting Naruto's tenketsu and internal organs, he demonstrated taijutsu similar to the Gentle Fist, which was far more savage and his proficiency with his weapons also significantly improved.

Momoshiki competed against Naruto in his Six Paths Sage Mode, and Sasuke used his Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan and Rinnegan and his sword to its full potential using both his bare hands and weapons. He was unaffected by being imprisoned in a Chibaku Tensei and was able to bore his way out. He also had the ability to fly, just like other Otsutsuki.

Byakugan

Momoshiki has Byakugan in both of his eyes which gives him the capacity to see the chakra pathway system, and its tenketsu allow him to see through anything in all sorts of objects. Using it, he could glimpse Kurama's chakra, which was imprisoned inside Naruto. In the manga and anime, Momoshiki could read other people's fates with his Byakugan but he was unable to see his own.

Rinnegan

Momoshiki has Rinnegan in the palm of his hand but his Rinnegan was red instead of light purple on the palms of his hands at first. He claimed that he could create an infinite amount of chakra-based techniques with his left hand, which he could then utilize to unleash any technique he came into touch with increased power and size.

He can turn the absorbed chakra into pills which he then swallows and gains power from chakra. Momoshiki's Rinnegan in his palms turned yellow as he transformed after absorbing Kinshiki, and he also got a second purple Rinnegan on his forehead. Additionally, he had the ability to make black receivers which he could use to impale and hold people in place while fighting or firing at them.

Momoshiki can use Space-Time Jutsu, Rasengan, and all five Nature elements, including Fire, Lighting, Wind, Water, and a combination of the four. He can also use Kama power by manifesting through Boruto's body.

Momoshiki Otsutsuki was also featured in Boruto: The Movie.
