Very little is known about Owashi as his past is still shrouded in mystery. Owashi was the father of Sagi and Toki. Almost nothing is known about his childhood other than the fact that was of royal blood and eventually became the daimyo of the Land of Birds. Additionally, he is only a part of the Naruto anime which makes him a filler, non-canon character in the series.
Owashi made his debut in the anime in The Cursed Warrior Extermination Arc. In the storyline, he had died a mysterious death, leaving his son, Sagi, as the heir of the Land of Birds. As the story progressed, the truth behind his mysterious death came to light. It was revealed that Owashi was killed by his chief advisor, Moso, who was in fact a rogue ninja, Hoki (Watari), in disguise.
Later, Toki succeeded him and became the daimyo disguised as Sagi, her elder twin brother who was poisoned by Moso. It was believed that Owashi came back as the Cursed Warrior, a ghostly samurai.
Owashi was a kind man and he cared for the Land of Birds and its citizens. He would often travel to various places in the Land of Birds, where he wasn’t supposed to as a daimyo, to look over his citizens. He was also trusting which ultimately became the reason for his unfortunate demise as he was killed by his chief advisor.
Owashi was a middle-aged man who had short spiky brown hair that fell into sideburns and formed a beard and he also had a mustache. He had black eyes, and his head was covered in a little green hat. He wore a white piece of clothing with a grey and light-colored collar underneath a green loose, sleeveless shirt with red trimmings.
Owashi was of royal blood. Based on the information available, he never received any formal combat training, thus, he didn’t possess any battle skills.
