During the Nine-Tails attack on the village, Shinku is seen putting all the young shinobis inside a barrier telling them that they should stay out of this fight against the Nine-Tails. His daughter Kurenai Yuhi voiced her disagreement to this and he told his daughter that she was a shinobi who may or may not love a long life and told her that she should live a long life so that she can pass on the Will of Fire to the coming generations.

Shinku is a firm believer in the will of fire and considers the young Ninjas should not fight the Nine-Tails as they were the future of the village and the future of the village should be protected.

Shinku has black hair and very distinctive red eyes. He has a very prominent jawline and wears the standard Konoha Ninja uniform with sandals.
