Son Goku, also known as Four-Tails, is one of the nine tailed beasts that Hagoromo Otsutsuki created. Roshi was Son Goku’s last Jinchuriki and it is now a free tailed beast. It is from Iwagakure (the Village Hidden in the Stones). It is one of the supporting characters in the Naruto anime series and manga that was written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto.

Hagoromo created Son Goku and the other tailed beasts. He split the energy of a powerful Ten-Tail into Nine-Tailed Beasts, and Son Goku is one of those Tailed Beasts. Hagoromo told the tailed beasts that they were connected and would be reunited one day. In the anime, Hagoromo arranged for Son Goku to be kept safe in a water screen cave alongside other monkeys at the location.
During the First Shinobi World War, Hashirama Senju captured eight-tailed beasts. To establish friendly relations and maintain a balance of power among the newly formed ninja villages, he sold two of these tailed beasts, Son Goku and Kokuo, to the village of Iwagakure during a gathering of the Five Kage.
Decades later, Son Goku ended up sealed inside Roshi, who went on his journey to gain better control over his tailed beast.
Son Goku's initial appearance occurred during the Capture and Itachi Pursuit Arc. One of the most pivotal moments for Son Goku was during the Meeting with Naruto Arc. Inside the tailed beast's mouth, Naruto found himself engaged in a conversation with Son Goku. This encounter was a turning point, as Naruto's honesty and genuine desire to befriend the tailed beast struck a chord with Son Goku. During the battle against Kaguya Ōtsutsuki, Son Goku and the other tailed beasts supported Naruto by providing their combined power to help overcome the tyrannical princess. Ultimately, Kaguya was defeated and sealed away inside a newly-created moon within her own dimension.
After Kaguya's defeat, the tailed beasts began discussing their plans for the future, expressing their desire for freedom. Son Goku mentioned his wish to return to his cave.

The Conflict with Sasuke Arc brought a new challenge as Sasuke revealed his intention to remove those who could obstruct his plans, including the tailed beasts. Sasuke subdued the tailed beasts with his Rinnegan and sealed them within his Chibaku Tensei, creating a moment of tension and uncertainty.

Son Goku shows up as a tough enemy in games like "Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm" and "Naruto: Rise of a Ninja." There's also a fake version of Son Goku players can battle in "Naruto Shippuden: Kizuna Drive." For those that want to play as Son Goku, they can do so as well! In some games like the "Ultimate Ninja" series, where players can choose Utakata and transform it into Saiken.
Gamers can play as Son Goku in both its small and big forms in some games, but in others like "Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution" and "Ultimate Ninja Storm 4," you can only be the big version of Saiken.
In the movie, Son Goku and the other tailed beasts are targeted by a powerful antagonist named Toneri Otsutsuki. Toneri plans to capture the tailed beasts and use their chakra to power the "Tenseigan," a doomsday device. Naruto and his friends must work together to stop Toneri's plans and save the world.
