Very little is known about his childhood as Tea Daimyo’s past is still shrouded in mystery. Additionally, he is just mentioned in the Naruto anime and does not appear or receive any mentions in the Naruto series manga, making him a non-canon, filler character in the series.
Due to his sparse mention in the series, close to nothing is known about his past, even his name is not common public knowledge. Based on the public information available, he serves as the Feudal Lord of the Land of Tea.
Tea Daimyo made his debut appearance in Naruto episode 102, a filler episode of the Naruto anime in the Land of Tea Escort Mission Arc. In the arc, he presided over the Todoroki Shrine Race, which pitted the Wagarashi family (primarily Kyuroku Wagarashi), and the daimyo's minister against Idate Morino of the Wasabi family, led by Jirocho Wasabi. When his men discovered what they had done, the daimyo ordered Kyuroku to dissolve his clan in retaliation for the terrible deeds and behavior during the Todoroki Shrine Race. He also forced his minister to resign and convert to Buddhism.
Tea Daimyo was later mentioned in the Gosunkugi Capture Mission Arc. In this arc, Tsunade Senu, the Fifth Hokage, stated that Gosunkugi, a thief, had stolen something belonging to the Tea Daimyo.
Since Tea Daimyo has not been seen or mentioned since this incident, it is hard to determine whether he is dead or alive. Unless new information comes to light that suggests otherwise, it is currently believed that he is alive and well.
There isn't much information available regarding Tea Daimyo's personality due to his lack of appearance and relevant information in the series. From his actions in the series, it can be said that the Tea Daimyo is a kind and fair man. He doesn’t shy from punishing bad deeds. He punished his minister for his evil doings when caught cheating red-handed, without a second thought.
The Tea Daimyo is a middle-aged man with short, trimmed black hair, dark eyes, and unusually large ears. He also sports a mustache and a goatee. He is dressed in the traditional attire of a daimyo of the Land of Tea, consisting of headgear with pink straps, a loose, long-sleeve purple kimono with white trimmings, and an orange garb underneath, paired with a green band tied around his waist.
The Tea Daimyo is of royal blood and it is very likely that he never went through any kind of formal combat training. Based on this, it is presumed that he does not possess any combat abilities.
