Very little is known about Tetsuru as his past is still shrouded in mystery. In the series, Tetsuru was introduced as a prisoner in Orochimaru’s Southern Hideout.
Tetsuru made his debut in the anime in Itachi Pursuit Mission Arc. In the storyline, Tetsuru asked Suigetsu Hozuki, who approached him, about the rumor spreading around about Orochimaru getting killed by Sasuke Uchiha. Once Suigetsu confirmed Orochimaru’s demise, Tetsuru was concerned about his own fate after this development. Tetsuru couldn’t believe his fate when Suigetsu told him that he and other prisoners were to be set free. However, Suigetsu laid out a condition for their freedom. He asked Tetsuru and other prisoners to spread the word of Orochimaru’s defeat and demise in exchange for setting them free, to which everyone agreed with ease.
As Tetsuru has not made an appearance since it is hard to determine whether he is alive or dead. For the time being, based on his last status, he is presumed to be alive and well.
Tetsuru spent many years of his life in prison because of Orochimaru. It is believed that he was also a subject of Orochimaru’s unethical experiments. These years in imprisonment had caused Tetsuru to fear Orochimaru and he lost all hope of freedom. He became pessimistic.
He had light brown hair that was cut short, small dark eyes, an unshaven face, and his head was bandaged. In his sparse appearance, he was dressed in the typical prisoner attire of a white T-shirt as well as some pants.
Tetsuru was one of Orochimaru’s prisoners, so there is a possibility that he possesses a unique trait that caught Orochimaru’s attention. However, it is just speculation, and information about Tetsuru possessing any abilities is unavailable.
