Tora (Anbu) in Naruto

Very little is known about his childhood as Tora’s past is still shrouded in mystery. Tora was a member of Konoha’s Anbu unit. Being an Anbu, Tora’s real identity is unknown. Due to his limited appearances in the series, close to nothing is known about his lineage or background other than the fact that he was one of Konoha’s finest shinobi and a member of Anbu Black Ops.

Tora originally debuted in episode 140 of Naruto Shippuden. When the Third Hokage was in power, he was first introduced as an Anbu Black Ops shinobi directly under Hiruzen's command. Tora was tasked with monitoring the Uchiha clan and following their activities alongside other Anbu units. This responsibility was given to the Anbu in order to supervise and prevent rebellion by the Uchiha clan.

Since Tora has not been seen since this incident, it is hard to determine whether he is dead or alive. Unless new information comes to light that suggests otherwise, it is currently believed that he is dead.

It is stated that Tora possessed tiger-like strength and speed and his opponents had no hope of escaping once they fell into his grasp.
