Torifu Akimichi was a jonin of Konohagakure and he was a part of the Akimichi clan. He, Kagami Uchiha, and Danzo Shimura were direct subordinates of the second Hokage. Like the Akimichi clan members, he also relies on power enhancement pills to give him more energy to fight.

During the First Shinobi War, Torifu was a part of Tobirama's Escort Unit. When they were being chased by Kumo's unit, Kagami came up with a plan that someone had to lure them away from the rest of the team and Torifu said that whoever does that will be the sacrifice.
He witnessed Hiruzen being declared the Third Hokage by Tobirama. He survived the fight against Kumo's unit and he made a huge name for himself after that.
Years later he, Hiruzen, Homura and Koharu were fighting the Nine-Tails who were running rampant in the village. They were able to drive the Nine-Tails beast outside the village and save the village from sustaining more damage.
