Tsuchinoe (Anbu) in Naruto

Very little is known about her childhood as Tsuchinoe’s past is still shrouded in mystery. Tsuchinoe was introduced in the series as a member of Konoha’s Anbu of the Root faction under Danzo. Being an Anbu, Tsuchinoe’s real identity is unknown. Due to her limited appearances in the series, close to nothing is known about her lineage or background.

The fact that she is an Anbu, her real identity is kept a secret, is also a major reason behind her mysterious past. Also, she is just a part of the Naruto Shippuden anime and does not appear or receive any mentions in the Naruto series manga, making her a non-canon character in the series.

Tsuchinoe originally debuted in episode 351 of Naruto Shippuden. When the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi was going to get reinstated as Hokage after the unfortunate demise of Minato Namikaze (Fourth Hokage) in the Nine-Tails’ attack on Konoha, Danzo dispatched twelve anbu (including Tsuchinoe) from the Root under his command.

The anbu dispatched were to assassinate Hiruzen to facilitate Danzo’s plan of becoming the new Hokage. Tsuchinoe disguised herself as a foreign kunoichi, to categorize this assassination as a foreign attack rather than internal affairs. She attacked and battled the anbu accompanying Hiruzen but unfortunately for her, her target was Kakashi Hatake of the Sharingan who was accompanying Hiruzen under disguise. Facing Kakashi turned out more than what they bargained for and it resulted in the failure of their mission.

Since Tsuchinoe has not been seen since this incident, it is hard to determine whether she is dead or alive. Unless new information comes to light that suggests otherwise, it is currently believed that she is alive and well.

There isn't much information available regarding Tsuchinoe's personality due to her lack of appearance and relevant information in the series. It is obvious that Tsuchinoe is a mature and responsible adult from her rank.

Given her Anbu status, she is undoubtedly a trustworthy kunoichi who is committed to carrying out her duties and watching out for her village, Konoha. Like most of the Root faction, Tsuchinoe is devoted to Danzo and would carry out his commands no matter the cost.

Tsuchinoe's true identity is concealed because he was a member of Root’s Anbu faction. Tsuchinoe has purple hair that is about shoulder length. She appears dressed in the typical Anbu attire of a grey jacket with matching pants, black arm warmers, standard shinobi sandals, and a left arm tattoo bearing the Anbu symbol.

Her mask has red lines that resemble a bear-like appearance and a scar pattern that runs from the left eye hole to the cheek. Her preferred weapon is a sword, which she wears on her back.

Tsuchinoe was never seen unleashing her abilities to the full extent in the Naruto series. Judging from her Anbu status, it is safe to say that she is a remarkable shinobi with formidable strength and remarkable abilities. She is undoubtedly one of the strongest shinobi Konoha has to offer. She also wields a sword, suggesting that she is quite adept in Kenjutsu, also known as sword techniques.
