Kagami was a jonin of the Hidden Leaf Village and a member of the legendary Uchiha clan. He was among the few hundred who attended the Hidden Leaf Ninja Academy after it was established. He eventually gained the trust of Tobirama Senju, the Second Hokage of Hidden Leaf, and became a part of his Escort Unit, along with Hiruzen Sarutobi and Danzo Shimura.
He and his comrades from the Escort Unit escorted the Second Hokage on a mission during the First Great Ninja War. The unit discussed their choices as they were being pursued and eventually surrounded by the Kinkaku Squad of the Hidden Cloud Village.
Kagami pointed out that Koharu's plan of an ambush wouldn't work and that instead, a distraction was needed to lure the enemy away. Then he watched as the Second Hokage, who had put himself forth as the dummy, named Hiruzen as the Third Hokage.
Not much is known about Kagami’s movements after this incident. It was stated that at some point he became a father and later died at the young age of 25. The reason for his demise is still unknown. Shisui Uchiha is the only known direct decedent of Kagami. It was stated that along with Kagami’s appearance, Shisui had also inherited his Will of Fire instead of the Uchiha’s Curse of Hatred.
Kagami had a limited appearance in the series so not much is known about him. It is stated that Kagami was a strong man with a great sense of loyalty towards his clan and the Hidden Leaf Village itself. He had dedicated his life to the protection of the village, and he sacrificed and accomplished much for the sake of his clan and the village.
Because of his strong feeling of loyalty, he never became a victim of his clan's Curse of Hatred, which was something that was typically highly likely to happen after awakening the Sharingan. He was one of the few Uchiha that Tobirama believed in, and he was also one of the six persons that Tobirama selected to be his direct subordinates.
Kagami had pale skin and short, unkempt black hair that flowed over his forehead guard and framed his face. He donned a black suit with grey armor covering the chest, thighs, and shoulders, arm guards, a forehead shield, a kunai holster on his right upper leg, sandals, and a pouch attached to his lower back with bandages while fighting in the First Great Ninja War.
He appeared in the anime as a young boy during the founding of the village, dressed in a customary high-collared black Uchiha shirt with an Uchiha clan crest on the back, grey pants, bandages covering his arms and legs, and black shinobi sandals.
Due to his limited appearance in the series, details about the true extent of Kagami’s abilities is still a mystery. Despite this, Kagami was a jonin, born in an era of war. He was one of the direct subordinates of the Second Hokage, which indicates how powerful he was.
He was born in the Uchiha clan and was among the few who managed to awaken the legendary Dojutsu, the Sharingan. As a member of the formidable Uchiha clan, Kagami possessed a strong chakra. With his Sharingan, Kagami was capable of recognizing Genjutsu, differentiating between different chakra forms, being able to see the flow of chakra, and many more abilities that came along with it.
His visual prowess was complimented by Danzo for often saving his life in the anime. Shisui, the renowned strongest Uchiha of his time and a user of the Mangekyo Sharingan was Kagami's descendent and freely acknowledged that his ancestor was stronger than him.
