Izuna Uchiha is the brother of Madara Uchiha. Izuna Madara is a fictional character of the famous Naruto series appearing on multiple occasions in the manga as well as its anime adaptation.

Izuna was among the few in the series who were capable of awakening MangekyoSharingan. Izuna alongside his brother Madara Uchiha are renowned as the strongest shinobi and most exceptional Dojutsu users in the Uchiha Clan in their lifetime.

In an era when shinobi were constantly on the battlefield and the village system was not introduced yet, Tajima Uchiha and his beloved had 5 children. Izuna Uchiha was the second eldest son and Madara Uchiha their eldest son. Three of Izuna’s siblings were killed by the members of their rival clan, the Senju Clan, which embedded in Izuna’s heart a deep hatred towards the Senju Clan. Through rigorous training and fighting on the battlefield, Izuna alongside his elder brother were forged and were eventually renowned as one of the strongest shinobi in their war ridden era.
In Izuna’s childhood, one day he acquired the knowledge that his elder brother Madara Uchiha was meeting someone without their knowledge. That someone was Hashirama Senju, first born of Senju Clan’s leader at the time, Butsuma Senju. Tajima along with Izuna planned an ambush to eliminate Hashirama and land a blow on the Senju Clan. Everything did not go according to the plan and they were confronted by Butsuma himself along with his son, Tobirama. Izuna was shocked when he heard his elder brother’s words admitting that Hashirama was stronger than him and that they would lose this battle, and they were forced to retreat.
In the coming years, Uchiha and Senju Clan clashed against each other on the battlefield on numerous occasions. Eventually, Hashirama was named leader of the Senju Clan and Madara was named the leader of the Uchiha Clan. Izuna fought against Tobirama on multiple occasions. In his final battle with Tobirama, Tobirama caught him by surprise with his Flying Raijin Technique, and landed a fatal blow on him. Seeing his younger brother fatally wounded, Hashirama gave Madara the opportunity to get Izuna to a safe place and Madara retreated with his brother.
Later when Madara clashed against Hashirama in the battlefield again, he revealed that the wounds inflicted by Tobirama on Izuna were fatal and he succumbed to his illness. As his last act, Izuna decided to give his Mangekyo Sharingan to his elder brother so that he could obtain the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan. He hoped that with this Madara would be able to protect his clan from their enemies, as he had noticed his brother’s blindness was progressing due to overtime use of Mangekyo Sharingan. Many believed that Madara had stolen those eyes from his dying brother to become stronger for his own selfish reasons.
Izuna Uchiha was a renowned shinobi of the Uchiha Clan before the village system existed. Izuna had proven his worth on multiple occasions on the battlefield with his strength and visual prowess. Izuna was one of the strongest Uchiha of their time, second only to his older brother, Madara Uchiha. Izuna and his brother possessed exceptionally powerful chakra, even by Uchiha standards. Izuna was powerful enough to go toe to toe against Tobirama Senju, who is renowned as the fastest and one of the strongest shinobi to live in their era. In the anime, Izuna has shown unparalleled mastery of his sword and proficiency in Kenjutsu.
Izuna was very proud of his Uchiha lineage and their famous unique visual prowess, TheSharingan. Izuna was born in a war-stricken era, which played a role in the awakening of his Sharingan at a very young age. With the awakening of his Sharingan, Izuna was able to access its various abilities and was able to predict his opponent's next move by assessing their chakra flow, evaluate events with extreme details, and was able to counter and evade most of their attacks.
Alongside his elder brother, Madara Uchiha, Izuna became one of the few to activate Mangekyo Sharingan in the history of the Uchiha Clan. His Mangekyo Sharingan had a unique pattern consisting of three wide bars extending out of his enlarged pupils.
Izuna and Tobirama went toe to toe against each other on the battlefield as both of them were members of the two strongest rival clans in their era. In his final battle against Tobirama, Izuna was defeated and lost his life.
Tobirama Senju inflicted the injuries on Izuna which led him towards his end. In their last battle, Tobirama caught Izuna off guard with his Flying Thunder God Technique and was able to land a finishing blow. Madara Uchiha managed to get Izuna out of the battlefield but Izuna was bedridden due to his injuries and succumbed to his illness.
