Jay Norris created and founded Lifeinvader in his parents’ pool house back in East Carraway. He later made a lot of money by selling people’s personal information to private companies and the government. He is the CEO and founder of Lifeinvader and is seen in the head office of Lifeinvader in Los Santos.
His character is based on a mix of Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg.

During the mission Friend Request, Lester Crest sends Michael to plant a fake prototype in the Lifeinvader office in place of a prototype phone that Jay Norris was going to present to the people publicly. This prototype planted by Michael is actually an explosive. Just when Jay Norris takes Michael’s call during the presentation and holds it close to his ear, it explodes, killing him instantly.

Being a minor character, Jay does not have a unique model (apart from clothing), and shares his facial structure and hairstyle with hipster pedestrians seen around Los Santos.
His backstory of creating LifeInvader in his parents' pool house is similar to Apple's beginnings with Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak building computers in Jobs' parents' house.
Lester on Bleeter said that Jay Norris's funeral will be "free, restricted access, minimal design, with guest-targeted advertising".
