Daibutsu is a fictional character in the popular manga and its anime adaptation, the Naruto series, written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto.

Daibutsu is a character in the Naruto series that first appeared in Naruto Shippuden Episode 347 titled, “Creeping Shadow.” Daibutsu was a member of the original Akatsuki, under the leadership of Yahiko.

Very little is known about Daibutsu’s childhood and past as his heritage is still shrouded in mystery. Due to his limited appearances in the series, close to nothing is known about his lineage or background other than the fact that he was a member of the original Akatsuki.
Additionally, he is just a part of the Naruto Shippuden anime and does not appear or receive any mentions in the Naruto manga, making him a non-canon character in the series.
Daibutsu first appeared in the Fourth Shinobi World War: Climax Arc. In this arc, it was revealed that after some time Daibutsu joined the Akatsuki, he engaged in a battle against Tobi (Obito Uchiha) and Zetsu to save Yahiko, Nagato from a trap orchestrated by Hanzo of the Salamander and Danzo Shimura.
Unfortunately, he found himself to be no match for Obito. As a final double-edged attack, he teamed up with Kyusuke. He trapped Tobi in his Water Prison Jutsu and then Kyusuke used his Lava Release: Quicklime Congealing Technique in an attempt to petrify himself along with Tobi.
Unfortunately, their plan failed as Tobi escaped by teleporting and later Tobi killed Daibutsu with the rest of his comrades. In the end, he sacrificed his life for his comrades but sadly, his death was in vain.
Due to his lack of appearance in the series and any related information, almost nothing is known about Daibutsu’s personality. However, Daibutsu seemed quiet, a man of few words, as he mostly nodded in response to Yahiko’s orders.
Daibutsu is dressed in a typical attire of a samurai from the Land of Iron, a full-body metal grey samurai armor with a face mask that fully hides his face, and a helmet Additionally, he carries two sword sets that are fastened to his leg armor.
Daibutsu was only able to showcase some extent of his abilities in his spare appearance. He was a man of big stature, capable of wielding a big club and a bo. It is also stated that he possessed Water Release charka nature and was skilled in Water Prison jutsu.
