Daikoku Funeno is a fictional character in the popular manga and its anime adaptation, the Naruto series, written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto.

Daikoku Funeno is a character in the Naruto series that first appeared in episode 129 of Naruto titled, “Brothers: Distance Among the Uchiha.” He is a chunin-ranked shinobi of Konohagakure, also known as the Village Hidden in the Leaves. He serves as a teacher in the Hidden Leaf Ninja Academy.

Very little is known about his childhood and Daikoku Funeno’s past as his heritage is still shrouded in mystery. Due to his limited appearances in the series, close to nothing is known about his lineage or background other than the fact that he is a shinobi of Konoha and is employed at the Ninja Academy as a teacher.
Additionally, when Sasuke Uchiha enrolled at the academy, Daikoku mentioned how Itachi Uchiha, Sasuke’s elder brother, is the best he ever had and expects great things from him.
In the Twelve Guardian Ninja Arc, Daikoku and some other chunins were ordered to stay alert by the Fifth Hokage, Tsunade Senju, in case of an attack on the village during the complete power outage in the village.
In the Past Arc: The Locus of Konoha, Daikoku met with Iruka Umino and Suzume after Pain’s assault on the Hidden Leaf. He teamed up with his fellow teachers to search for anything useful for class and salvage it.
These are the only instances Daikoku ever appeared in the Naruto series so far. Based on this minimal appearance, Daikoku is believed to be alive and well until any additional piece of information comes to light suggesting otherwise.
Due to his lack of appearance in the series and any related information, almost nothing is known about Daikoku Funeno’s personality. Based on his limited role, it can be deduced that Daikoku is skilled shinobi and is dedicated to the well-being of his students at the academy.
Daikoku has a goatee, brown hair, and a medium build. He is dressed in the traditional garb of a Konoha shinobi, which consists of a dark high-collared shirt, matching slacks, a green flak jacket, a Hidden Leaf forehead protection worn like a bandanna, and regular shinobi footwear.
Based on the facts at hand, Daikoku is a skilled chunin of Konoha. Although he is a chunin, he never had the opportunity or enough screentime to showcase his abilities so the full extent of his capabilities remains a mystery to this day.
