Dōtō made his first appearance in the series in episode 282 of the Naruto Shippuden anime in the Fourth Shinobi World War: Confrontation Arc. In the arc, it was revealed that Dōtō, Minato Namikaze (Yellow Flash of the Hidden Leaf), Gaku Inuzuka, his ninja dog, and a fourth unnamed Konoha shinobi made up a platoon that played a huge role during the conflict between Konohagakure and Kumogakure (Village Hidden in the Clouds).
His platoon fought the A-B Combo in one of the battles. The Konoha shinobi, however, received a signal to flee while Minato was engaged in combat with their adversaries. Dōtō has not appeared since this incident; thus, his absence makes it impossible to say whether he is dead or alive. He is currently assumed to be alive and well unless any information comes to light indicating otherwise.
Dōtō had a limited appearance in the series, so not much is known about him. Due to his sparse appearance and limited information at hand, what kind of personality Dōtō possesses is a mystery in itself.
Dōtō is exceedingly strong, just like the other Akimichi clan members. He has characteristic serpentine lines on his cheeks and is dressed in a samurai-style garb with the kanji for "food" on the front. He wears a Konoha forehead protection like a bandana to conceal his long, light-brown, spikey hair. and he carries a bō as his weapon of choice.
Due to his limited appearance in the series, details about the true extent of Dōtō’s abilities are still a mystery. Nonetheless, Dōtō is a capable shinobi of the Akimichi clan and Konoha. He possesses Yang Release and is adept in the Akimichi clan’s secret technique, calorie control technique which gives him the ability to convert calories into chakra.
It is also believed that Dōtō is skilled in the Akimichi clan’s body expansion jutsu. Additionally, it is stated that Dōtō is highly skilled at wielding a bō.
