Creation and History of Frog Kata

Frog Kata is a taijutsu fighting style exclusive to toad sage jutsu masters. The origin of Frog Kata is unknown as of now. The available information indicates that Frog Kata has been in existence since the era of the Sage of the Six Paths. Frog Kata is a taijutsu technique that utilizes nature energy gathered in toad sage jutsu. It gives a boost to the user’s reflexes, speed, strength, and durability, and increases their range of attack. With this, the user is able to lift huge boulders with bare hands, jump at incredible heights, and so on.

One of the things that makes this technique deadly is that it enables its user to coat themselves in an aura of nature energy which then acts as an extension of their physical body. This means, even if the enemy successfully dodges an attack from the Frog Kata user, as long as they are in the range of their aura, they will receive the hit or damage. It is stated that this aura can only be sensed by a fellow sage jutsu user. Additionally, Sage Mode's enhanced speed, reflexes, and increased chakra-sensing, when paired with the precise body movements of the Frog Kata, enable the user to successfully counterattack an opponent in addition to dodging opposing strikes at the last second.

Naruto Uzumaki, the protagonist of the Naruto series, learned this fighting style at Mount Myoboku under the tutelage of Lord Fukasaku, also known as the Great Sage Toad. During Naruto’s training to master Toad Sage Jutsu in order to fight Pain, the leader of Akatsuki, Lord Fukasaku taught him Frog Kata as well. This enabled him to fight effectively and ultimately defeat the Six Paths of Pain in the Destruction of Konoha (Hidden Leaf Village) Arc.
