Life of Hana Kaka

Hana, one of 50 orphans taken in by the minister from the Land of Bamboo, underwent intense ninja training. Despite her skills as an assassin, Hana couldn't bring herself to take lives. The conflict between her gentle nature and the need to survive led to a split in her goals.

This division created two personalities within her – one unaware of the other. A decade after the Fourth Shinobi World War, Hana, still a child, was tasked with becoming a teacher in Konohagakure.

Hana went to the welcome event for the new students and then teamed up with Anko Mitarashi to assist another new teacher. Even though she tried her best, Hana's shyness made it tough to grab the students' focus. Afterwards, she shared her worries about handling the job, but her colleagues reassured her, saying everyone initially finds it challenging.

Hana invited Team 7 to teach her class, but the students were more interested in flashy jutsu than the lesson. Worried about their safety, she used Wind Release to keep them away from dangerous techniques. Concerned about the divide caused by Team 7's exercise, she sought advice from Eho and Soul to help reconcile the students.

Despite making mistakes, her dedication to resolving their issues shone through. She cancelled class for a day and organized a cherry blossom-watching party during a picnic to foster unity.

In another lesson, Hana grouped her students into teams of three for a practical exercise on teamwork. The lesson, held on a hill near the Academy, came with a warning not to venture too deep into the nearby forest.

When two students, Himawari and Kae, were attacked by a flame bear, Hana intervened to let them escape. Unable to defeat the bear alone, Kawaki came to her rescue and scolded her.

Later on, Hana's second personality discovered that Kawaki was a skilled ninja hired to protect Kae. To test his abilities, she orchestrated a situation where missing-nin took Osuka hostage, observing as Kawaki successfully dealt with the threat.

Hana organized a play about the Sannin for a festival at a different event with her class. To eliminate Kawaki as a potential issue, her second personality revealed Kawaki's true identity to the students. As rumors circulated, Kawaki faced difficulties. The assassin, attempting to target Kae in the infirmary, was thwarted by Kawaki just in time.

On the festival day, Hana wished her students worked as hard in class as they did for the event. After putting in extra effort the night before, she left to rest. Unbeknownst to her, her second personality took over and set up a terrorist attack using paper bombs around the Academy grounds. Oblivious to her actions, Hana discussed options with the staff when they discovered missing students.

When Hana realised students were unaccounted for, she searched for them. The assassin side took over, covering the play with a smoke bomb. Using her Byakugan, Himawari saw through the threat, saving Kae and leading her outside. As the assassin pursued them, Kawaki intervened, defeating the threat.

Deeming Kawaki too dangerous, the assassin used paper bombs to escape, causing an explosion that injured Hana. Taken to the hospital, Hana's students visited, wishing her a quick recovery. When Kawaki asked about the assassin's true face, Hana couldn't remember anything. After her students left, she tried to push herself to recall the events.

Later on, Assassin-Hana met a colleague from the Land of Bamboo. They agreed that if things kept going as they were, the best way to complete the mission was to fake "the assassin's" death. The colleague took his own life, and Assassin-Hana dressed him in her assassin outfit as a backup plan.

Afterwards, Assassin-Hana attacked Kae's mansion, easily overcoming the princess's butler, Batora Kuromori. Once again, Kawaki intervened just in time to prevent her from harming Kae. The fight moved outside, where Assassin-Hana initially used her flames against Kawaki.

However, Kawaki proved to be too agile and swiftly defeated her. Opting for her backup plan, she revealed explosive tags under her cloak. As Kawaki retreated, Assassin-Hana summoned the disguised corpse, triggering the tags to fake her demise.

After being released from the hospital, Hana returned to teach her class and was delighted to see how much her students missed her, setting up a display for her return. As the day progressed, Hana started remembering bits of her battles with Kawaki.

Discovering an assassination plot on Kae, she connected the incidents and realised her involvement. Fearing the worst, she searched her apartment and uncovered a secret room with assassin tools. Shocked to find she was the culprit, she decided to turn herself in.

However, her second personality revealed the complete truth about their past and why they were in Konohagakure. Exploiting Hana's unawareness, the dual personality lowered suspicion of her as the culprit. Taking control, the second personality restrained Hana's consciousness while Assassin-Hana posed as the kindhearted teacher.

During an attempt to harm Kae, Hana briefly regained control, stopping the attack and prompting Assassin-Hana to restrain her consciousness again.

Assassin-Hana organized survival training for her class on an old island training ground. To create chaos, she removed their food and damaged their surveillance tools, taking advantage of rumors about dangerous missing-nin on the island. At night, when Kae gave her a flower arrangement, she pretended to lose it, using the search with Kae as an excuse to separate from the group.

While looking for the flowers, Kawaki and Himawari discovered she was the assassin after Kae, recognizing her jutsu in drone footage. Assassin-Hana fled with Kae. Himawari suspected an impostor, but Hana claimed the students were just a diversion for her mission. Crossing a bridge, Hana seemingly stabbed Kae to fulfill her mission.

In reality, Assassin-Hana tricked Kawaki and Himawari by blowing up the bridge separating herself from them. In a cave, she revealed her situation to Kae, explaining that while she initially had to kill her for a mission, she now needed to use Kae as a hostage to free the arrested Bamboo Minister.

After rejoining the minister's subordinate, Kae tried to reason with Hana, who mocked and taunted her, throwing a kunai near her face. After Hana left, Kae used the deliberately left kunai to free herself. Impressed, Hana acknowledged Kae's resourcefulness, threatening to harm her emotionally even if she couldn't kill her. Kawaki and Himawari arrived to help Kae.

Assassin-Hana explained her dual personality and attacked with Fire Release. Kawaki used a shadow clone trick, allowing Himawari to attempt a Gentle Fist attack, but Hana dodged it. Using a paper barrier to conceal herself, Hana continued the attack. Despite her efforts, Himawari's Byakugan spotted her, creating an opening for Kawaki to defeat her.

Assassin-Hana thought she had delayed enough for her allies to come, but Sai and Batora revealed that Anbu had detained them. Trying to end her own life, the battle's strain allowed Teacher-Hana to resist. The rest of the class arrived, and with their support, Teacher-Hana prevailed and regained control.

Hana chose not to erase Assassin-Hana, opting to suppress her instead. Teacher-Hana could befriend and teach her to live beyond her mission. As Kae had to go home, Hana participated in the class's Sannin play. Later, she bid farewell to Kae at the train station.
